Fixed up a safety issue in the rvf , the grip was catching up my bar end and stopping the throttle from snapping back , new grips sorted that

Finally got around to blocking off the internal Oil feed on the SRX350 conversion.
The feed tube has had a small piece of steel rod Silver Soldered into the tube and then filled with Silver Solder from both ends to make a permanent plug.
I also put JB Weld in the feed port leading up to the barrel so that I get a little more gasket surface as well as being sure no oil goes there.
Might finish the clutch tomorrow and finish painting the bottom end.
Then it can be placed in the frame.
Engine mounts are painted and fitted on the lower front.

I got one the kx250 started, but I roll started it, bounced on the rear for traction (clutch was dragging, so snapped it into first once rolling). The problem was I also rolled the throttle in the process.... Oops!

Not today but yesterday I replaced some parts on the left side of Sylvie that had been jury-rigged after a drop in the wet. Also a long overdue battery replacement! 1a45a0a1b12ba8a878dd366b5b64d152.jpg b3be20475cf00f3790d13a46a01925ab.jpg 58b8f7bec8c8ee9abb7ebc0fb4c79ef3.jpg bf34d7c88cac501f0517a5d661d8c804.jpg bb906f214a680229ec0b26e247691435.jpg b2bbf2127d2dc4eb890007e6c138fbdc.jpg 180cc2afabbf9d55feccbe9dbfd134d4.jpg d7fae387e8b446c86032a4fcd014a1aa.jpg 0bfabf2a6f37b1d1299b3d4524799f72.jpg

Mate Sean's CBR1000 sprung a leak last weekend on a ride to Walcha. He lost a lot of coolant but was able to get home (dead engine rolling down hills) without damage. Pulled the right fairing off to find the original plastic water fitting had split. Bought some brass bar and made him a new one that will never be a problem again.

I had made a fuel fitting for him earlier that needed a longer bent pipe to clear the airbox better.

Yeah they get used on some of the race pitbike's, a lot of the early one's leaked on the slave cylinder
Not sure about the latest one's though.
I know some of the guy's used the Magura clutch master or a Haye's l/h brake master with the china CNC slave cylinder too

There is also the Easy Clutch (leverage type) for half that price

You can also make an extended clutch pivot arm and bolt that on to halve the effort of pulling in a hard clutch lever
like what a lot of the VMX racer's use

I fitted a Magura one to a WR250 Yamaha, and I don't think there was that much difference to the cable for the cost. I prefer to extend the arm or use a lever with different pivot centre to get the same effect.

Finished the R6 rear shock conversion and fitted the freshened up ass end on my fzr250. Also put all the fairings back on after a tidy up.

@Andych Do you like the way they feel? My experience has been that cables give much better feedback. Durbahn in Germany was doing cable conversions for hydraulic clutches. Don't know if he still does because his website is such a maze.

I haven’t used one so far Blair. I think I am going to need to put a 350 clutch into the SRX and it needs a new cable. This system is about the same as a new after-market clutch cable. So I might give it a go just to see how it works.

Tinkering today mostly as I needed paint and Bunnings etc were closed.

I decided to cut the end of my SS engine pipe so I can sort out the correct size piece to go on.
Pulled out the trusty Ryobi cordless grinder and thankfully grabbed my safety shield / helmet.
This was an old cutting disc but still quite usable.
When it let go the piece that broke off hit the shield.
After a few expletives and a new disc I finished the cut

Always remember children, wear your safety gear, doesn’t matter if is just a quick cut etc.

I should add that the face shield is perfectly fine... I did buy a good quality Polycarbonate one though... I dont go cheap on Safety Gear.

I try to keep the direction of rotation away from vital body parts. Safety gear or not, it is an extra measure to keep safe.

Does anyone know if you can but new SS pistons for FZR250 3LN calipers?
They have been butchered previously and won’t budge with compressed air.
Part of the seal on the small piston was protruding as well.
Looks like it might be a grease gun effort to move the pistons.

This one was separated to fit in the Ultrasonic Cleaner.
