Nice pickup, although the heading "CBR250RR just bought by 58 year old" isn't too unusual on this website/forum!

58, is that all? According to the paintwork should be an L model too, which is a good thing.

Got it home today after a good thrash along the motorway and mightily impressed with the performance for a small bike scaring the crap out of a dawdling Harley rider blatting along slowly.
Gave it a good wash and check over.

    Pro's
    Plastic is immaculate, like new,
    New tyres front and rear
    Pulls well with no hesitation

    Con's
Red paint on the wheels needs re-doing
Chain is good but dirty from over greasing
One headlamp out, replaced from spares
Black gasket goo on the clutch side, ?
Slight rusting at top of both forks
Missing bolt holding front brake hose to right fork, no spare in my box of bits
bottom of radiator starting to flake, no paint left on the sides of the radiator as well
Can't see the neutral light in the sunlight
Water temp gauge completly hidden by the brake flkuid reservoir
Strange agricultural looking nut on rear spindle acting as locknut

I'll get the usual service items from Dave Silver in the UK, balance the carbs with my Morgan Carbtune (best tool ever)

Just be careful with the headlight bulb, they should be 12v 35/60w which are not a regular bulb at an auto store, mc22’s are prone to having the left hand switch block fail if the wrong bulbs are used.

Sounds like you bought a winner , congrats mate

Thanks for the heads up on the lamps issue, that will explain why tabs were broken off the old lamp and I had to do the same to get everything working, I'll fork out for the genuine ones instead of banjaxing my switch block.
Rubber protcetive shields are missing as well so I'll get some of them as well if I can find them.
