Well, this is more of a monthly update. I have 4 projects on the go, and had a couple of jobs on the 650 - like fixing the speedo, no more counting gears and calculating speed for me! I recently got an Aprilia RS125 (thanks to @kiffsta for find) that is untidy and not yet complete, but it runs and shouldn't be too hard to get on the road. Still trying to reassemble the KDX, not that I've really done anything recently. I am rebuilding a yz250 engine at work, slowly. I did work on one of the zxr250 yesterday: I had leaking carbies. I had made a rig to hold the carbies at bike angle (bent tin bolted where the airbox screws goes) to test the float levels, then decided that I needed to do more than clean the carbies. The float tangs had divots from the needle pins, so I used the rotary tool to sand them down and then the wire brush attachment to polish the tang and needle seats. Back on the test bench rig and check if the carbies are leaking.... One did. Sigh. Checked float level, a bit high, and the valve seemed to close after a bit of tapping. Adjust the level and it seems to hold. AND THE BIKE STARTED AND RAN!! Only briefly because no coolant. But big step forward. Could have it on the road, soonish.
One of my sons mate asked me to get his bike going , this what showed up Dirty plug and they were running straight fuel , no 2 stroke oil , I tried to teach them but they were more interested in riding it. I went for a spin , loads of fun but if you get caught using it on the road it is a $600 fine
Aldi have impact drivers for sale for $ 80, battery and charger were an extra $40 I usually buy name brand tools , but I thought I’d take a punt , very cheap and it Works really well.
i bought one a few years ago. it will not undo the fords wheel nuts but i could be expecting too much of it.
Those Aldi rattle gun's are rated at 350Nm which is the same as 260ftlb's, most Falcon wheel nut's are recommended to be torqued to 125Nm / 135Nm or 92ftlb's / 100ft/lbs I like that the Aldi rattle gun has a 5 year warranty The big Makita DTW450Z LXT 18v is rated at 440Nm / 325ftlb's
perhaps my wheel nuts are on tighter but doubt it.once they have been loosenned they fly off with the rattle gun. wonder what kiffsta,s experience is?the 4 amp battery i feel is far superior to the 2 amp one.
what have I done ? ... 73 GT380k I will auctioning off a kidney to fund the chrome work needed on this one, it was used quite heavily in my teens and 20's, only moderate work ever since, plenty of miles left on it.
And everyone complains about the 'cafe' thing .... dirt bars on a smoker? .... yea right Anyway stop your bellyaching and restore it to some former glory ( come on @Phil , u know you want to ... your kidneys are in perfect shape ) .... heres a start http://mc.grenasberg.no/wp-content/...-GT-380-Parts-List-Diagram-Manual-1972-77.pdf
But I just bought a r1 front end and rear swingarm, plus some new oversized white wall tyres, I was going to rattle can it black and add some silver and red chequered stikers on the tank and some clubman bars , then to finish the bike , I am going to get a seat hoop installed and add a brown cafe seat to complete the look. I have started growing a beard and even some bought some beard oil Gonna be killer , am talking to Netflix about doing it doco style to inspire others to create something custom, we are in discussions about how much grinder time I will have to have, they say sparks are cool and it will draw in the viewers , plus a healthy dose of craft beer and barista made coffee. Apparently I have to buy a blue healer so they can do random cuts from the grinder sparks to the dog watching the build in progress , I have to make some gaffe about asking the dogs thoughts on flat bars or clubmans then when the dog barks, he gives me the go ahead for the clubmans Also looking for some extras to help out with the rattle can paint job, must have a brushed flanny shirt and have some roll your own smokes. Do a good job and you can have a craft beer or 3
And you could use this exhaust as inspiration and possible temple for the bike https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CB...ade/323831734666?_trksid=p2485497.m4902.l9144
He won’t ship to Australia , me and the blue heeler are off to Bunnings , might make some 3 into 6 chambers out of copper pipe and weld some empty bullet shells on it for that steam punk look Just realised that I don’t have a welder because I spent most of bike money on South American coffee beans and tribal tattoos taken from a long lost Brazilian man eating tribe , lucky Bunnings has a tube of liquid nails that is within budget I am excited to announce that I have decided on fitting a suicide shifter , I don’t want to mark my sandles on the shift pedal , thinking of using a golf putter and wrapping it in exhaust heat shield
