Found the brushed Stainless wrap and did the spare dash panel in it. I am a bit torn now as it looks nice and is closer to the original finish.
Later in the week I will sit both up on the top bridge with gauges and take pics so I can decide which I prefer.
Here it is with no gauges mounted. I had to be a lot more detailed on this as it shows any wrinkles on the edge more then the Carbon fiber one.

Nice bikes there (except for that poor half a Moto Guzzi, some one please put it out of it's misery).

I agree about the Poor Guzzie @Murdo but I am loving the Rickman CR just above it...apart from the bumble bee seat that is...
Plus I have a soft spot for the BSA Gold Star as well....

The Guzzi certainly polarised people , I know the guy who built it he had a heap of parts blasted by me for the build.

He comes from a family of Guzzi riders and I think this was his way of saying **** you, it is my bike and I will do what I want :)

Here is a pic the day he got it registered and dropped in at the shop to show me the finished product

That's not too different to many of the CX500 mod bikes. I don't like it, but everyone to their own.

Nice collection of bikes there. I like the 750SS (my old model), some nice Laverdas and the mighty Bridgestone, even if it is only a litt'un. Vintage Yam race bike brings back memories.

Another question for the masses... who has found that head measurements give a good representation on helmet fit... specifically on Bell helmets. I have my eye on a Bell Bullitt Triple Threat helmet but dont know if the local store will let me try one on for fit... The Bell guide says XL is 60-61cm and I fall into that range (no comments on big heads required lol) I remember back in the day when I got my Orange flake Shoei it was an XL and fitted like a glove, I did have considerably more hair then that now though... All opinions welcomed....:)

Cant help with the sizes info sorry. But i'f the shop didn't let you try the helmet on for correct fitment , i'd go somewhere else. When i bought my Shoei i tried on several sizes to get the fitment correct to suit my boofhead. They have to fit correctly !.MCA in Parramatta had a huge variety when i was last there , but that's been a while though.

Only problem is I wont be buying from the MCA local store... there is a Qld mob called Easy-R who have what I want in my size (supposedly) for $383 down from retail of $649 so its a good deal... as long as it fits...lol

The difference between a 1974 750SS and the bike that won the Imola 200 is about as close to nothing as has ever occurred in the history of motorcycles. As Paul Smart said 'This is a road bike'. Just wander down to your Ducati dealer and pick up the the factory race kit that is shown in your owner's hand book. Quasi retro-replica thingamabobs don't do it for me.
    750ss_1.jpg
For a belt drive engine like the one in the show I would go for a TT1 replica.

in regard to helmet go and try one on- you are under no obligation to buy- they may even price match.- i can do a nitro helmet cheaper!!!

Not my bike, but at work today I have been working on a 1968 BMW R60/5. The problem was valve train noise.

After on line investigation and confirmed by checking the end float of the rockers, I had found the problem.

Right side rocker was fine after adjusting end float and clearances again... the right hand side one just would not hold its position. When fitting the rocker and torquing it up, the blocks would spread apart and the end float goes way out over spec again.

Ended up having to clamp it in position/spec with a big metal g-clamp and then torque it up and do clearances - but it is much quieter now.

Next job - tuning. The old bings have been replaced by the owner with some modern mikuni slide carbs. So far the plugs are black.

The end float on the rockers (ex police 1977 R100RT) had me puzzled for a long time until I worked what was happening.
