I did a car track day at Pheasants Wood yesterday. I was sort of astounded to hear that they also run bike ride days and even bike race meetings. Its a great, winding, tight little track but, has absolutely no run off area , anywhere!(except at the end of the main straight) There is a solid fence right next to the edge of the tar on virtually every corner! Given the propensity of bikes to leave the circuit under all types of ungainly circumstances, i'm not sure how suited this place is for motorcycles. Has anyone done a track day here on a bike and how did you find it?

I don't even know where that is, but judging by your description, I would say DON'T do a bike ride day there.

Hmmm. Looks like an interesting little circuit, but lots of hard stuff to hit if you get your judgement wrong. It could be fun in my open wheel race car, but I would probably leave the bikes at home.

Its about 20 kms North of Goulburn, NSW, probably about 35 mins north of the Wakefield Park racetrack.

I think it used to be the Police Driver Training circuit.... could well be wrong though.

It was the police driver circuit, its been privately purchased, refurbished and extended. I'm guessing the need for the walls is partially due to the fact that it snakes inside itself so much and there would be a major risk of people running off the track and taking others out as they ran back on. The speeds are way, way down due to the tight nature of the circuit and the fact you are virtually continually turning, the one straight is probably not much more than 100 meter and uphill. But, some of the fastest turn in points are less than a meter from the fence. Not such a worry in a car but not too sure about a bike.

Looking at some of the posted videos it looks like it would be a about a 50sec lap in my little race car. For comparison my lap time at Winton is just over 1:30. So this is a short track.
