i never thought i could do that would i have to swap the head aswell . this would be great have you more information on this or is as simple as just pistons and barrels ?
Nothing else needs to be swapped. Just make sure you get a good set of C barrels and the pistons are in the right bores when you craft them unto your A engine. As I said, I plan to do this at some stage, so this is not a "I've done this" mode, but I know racers who have done this on their ZXR250's.
Made some new tank decals for the gb400, they have come out tops , I had loads of editing to remove the really thin lines so I had something decent to stick down
Got a battery for the CB, a cheap tank arrived from Ebay and started making enquiries about getting the X7 motor rebuilt. Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
What cutter do you have Chris? And what program do you use for your Decals? My other half has a Silhouette Cameo and so far I have played with the standard software on there... I havent cut anything yet .. I will start with some YAMAHA stockers I think..lol
I have a refine unit like this one , paid $150 on gumtree https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com.au/ulk/itm/372158900688 I use Vinylmaster ltr. Edition, bought it on eBay for $90 https://www.vinylmasterltr.com/ Buy good vinyl ,3m is best
So... rims and tyres dropped down to the local Bike store and will pick them up on Tuesday after a quick work trip to Dubbo later on today and back Monday night. I decided I was painting the fork lowers in the Black Onyx Metallic and really glad I did as they look really good. I have to give them another hit anyway as they were a little marked after sitting on the shelf forever.. Clear needs to go on the last one this morning... then I will take some pix. I am nw looking to find somewhere close that can Chrome my rear brake pedal to match the gear lever... then I can assemble the footrests etc.. Hopefully the bike will be a roller next weekend and I can start on the CB400.
This happened today.... For more Pics...... https://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/yamaha-srx-250-3wp.9076/page-19
Ok , you've fitted a cloaking device to the SRX ?.I'm stuffed if i can see a bike in that picture , so it work's very well .
Picked up a manual for the new bike. Doesn't seem to cover my engine for some reason Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
put a new engine into the zxr while i look for c cylinders and associated parts (i put an a in) i think it needs to be balanced tomorrow and take it from there and one coil is weak as two pipes are boiling hot and the others are luke warm so i need a replacement for that i guess also put a new valve into the front wheel it was all torn up
Look what sneaked out of the other Garage today She had a heavy wash down and might just end up on the lift tomorrow while the SRX takes a break waiting for a few items. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
I think I might have found another colour I want to paint the SRX.... Its called CherryBlack.... and I drooled when I saw the short video of it... https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=407883926510936
anyone have any ideas for this, i balanced my carbs but the bike still needs east start and will 'idle' at about 5 grand its not an air leak as far as i can see ive checked for it could it be mixture or what i am stumped
Richen up the idle mixture screws (turn anti clockwise/screw out) by half a turn (or more) and see if that makes any difference.
As @Murdo said they might need to be richened, i noticed when syncing my carbs i needed to readjust all the mixtures again
Got to do a bit on the CB400 today.. pulled out the battery box / Air filter s o I can bead blast it and paint it.. I will clean up the back of the frame and hit it with some paint as well.. I also looked at the headers with a view to repairing them but I fear they may well be past it... A big hole in #2 pipe near the head has been welded before but I can Mig that up.. some other pin holes in #4 pipe at the same place but the killer is where #4 pipe bends down the bottom has been crushed and ground almost paper thin and that really isnt repairable.... Oh I could cut and shut some stainless into that spot but it wouldnt look real good. Looks like it will be a Delkevic system for it unless I can find a good, reasonably priced original system... And when I went to put her back under wraps for the night I found this nasty little beast... it was nearly 30mm long but has since become DEAD.
