    North west Tasmania has a good proportion of good country roads.
    Here is a clip from a short ride I did on Wednesday. I did not turn the camera on for the morning part of the ride.
    Went out with a group and did around 100km of back roads:D

    This is just a couple of roads at the back of Wynyard.

    Warning: just turn the sound off. It was crap due to wing noise and will drive you nuts. I am going to mount the camera elsewhere to try and solve the problem.

    This is one of my favorite rides in QLD. Works both directions. Essentially an hour and a half of non-stop twists.

    I've decided to revive this thread, and maybe @Murdo has a few suggestions...

    I'm in Central Queensland and we have 2 notable, albeit short, roads: Mt Morgan and Mt Archer. But are 40km/h speed limits (Mt Archer is closed to public most of the time due to roadworks) - I can, and have, done Mt Morgan in a delivery truck 40km/h for the whole climb, loaded. Imagine how boring it is on a bike! I rode an hour north to find an interesting piece of road, once - 250km to ride 20km of road. Byfield is a popular road, but not fun at the reduced speed limits. Too many riders ride too fast, give bikers a bad name.

    Not a lot out your way Shane and it has been 30+ years since I have been further north than Bundy. The Aussie motorcycle atlas lists (ride No 2) the ride from Rocky to Mt Morgan to Dululu where you turn right to return on the Leichhardt and Capricorn hwy's to Rocky. Even that is only 70Km so not really a day ride. What about going to Dululu and on to Banana, turn left to Biloela, left again back to Dululu, Mt Morgan back to Rocky. That would give a ride of a bit over 300Km.
    Might have to come for a wander up your way next winter for a look see on the local roads.

    I thought you might have had contributions for roads in your area (state). Here is a long way from you to ride a few crumby roads full of roadtrains and mining equipment with 4 escort vehicles... Yes, there are some good roads about. Roadworks, too.

    I live 5 mins from the northern gate of the Royal National Park in Sydney. Used to be a truly amazing set of twisties that were tight enough to be enjoyable without going much over the 80 km speed limit . Now the speed limit has been excessively reduced and it’s excrucieatingly heavily policed. Given the number of push bikes, often riding 2 abreast, (and I thought I was a temporary Australian:) it’s probably a necessary evil. Mid week mid days can still be enjoyable but it’s only a shadow of its former self. Ahhhh the good old days!

    There's plenty of nice road's to ride in SA,
    down South through Yankalilla, on through Second Valley to Delamere then through to Victor Harbor and return
    Or Yankalilla then via Inmann Valley to Victor Harbor if you like the winding road's.
    Adelaide to Mylor, Echunga, Macclesfield into Strathablyn for lunch, then on to Currency Creek and into Goolwa, Middleton, Port Elliot, Victor Harbor then return via Willunga and McLarenvale
    Then there's nice ride's along the beach on the sand at Moana, Aldinga And Sellick's Beach when it's hot.
    Adelaide and up to Crafer's, then through Balhannah, Oakbank, Mt Torren's and into Birdwood, head back through Gumeracha then lot's of windy road's to Paracombe and back through the northern part's of Adelaide, can detour back through Lobethal and Lenswood and back via Basket Range

    Went on a few of those roads last time I was in SA. Nice roads and stayed the night in Victor Harbor. Shame it is a three day ride from here to get there.

    The old pacific hwy to gosford-- 60k speed limit crawling with cops

    The putty rd--- speed limit is still good but crawling with cops and slow arsed day trippers on weekends

    in nth qld gillies h/way going up to the tablelands then if going back to cairns any of the rds going back down to cairns including going back on the gilliees .. fav ride for cairns riders on a sun is up the gillies , breakfast at the cafe in yungaburra then back down the gillies to cairns .. u tube bikes/ gillies and theres a few videos made with helmet cams (or in my case down then turn around and head up again)

    I'd like to check out the Eungella drive from Mackay, but it is 4 hours each way. Then again, a friend had a baby recently, sounds like a great excuse to get some friends on a road trip to visit.. I'm the only rider, so I'll tow it there.
