So whats the latest and greatest

The chain/sprocket and especially the back wheel and surrounds are "clean" on the Daytona ... is there any great new product that will keep it that way?

I have some old crap on the shelf but its time for something new

We have the "Dirty Wheel Club" here but Id prefer to remain a non member :fuckyou:

Castrol stuff is better for chains that you want to save from the scrap metal pile (stiff links etc), but you have to let it go tacky or it will fling.

Motul stuff for chains in good nick that you want to keep that way... never had issues with it flinging.

The key is not drowning the chain in lube.

Depends on whether it is an o-ring chain and someone posted this before

    Magnificent!

I did have a brew that I once mixed up, some high pressure grease, 75W90 gear oil and shellite to thin the concoction, which when it's applied evaporates off - it worked well enough, I didn't however do the full battery of scientific tests to compare it to other products

What was recommended to me was maxima chain wax via my old bike shop. Iv'e yet to use it /test it though , well you have to ride the bike and that's not happening at the moment.
I'm also a non member of the dirty wheel club , and i'd prefer to stay that way thank you very much.I like clean bike's :fuckyou:.

I had a small tin of Motul that I used on my last long trip and was not impressed with it. Ran out on the last day and I bought a tin of Castrol on way home, it seems to do the job ok. I have used the white grease types and found they didn't lube the rollers much and picked up lots of grit.
With the 'O' or 'X' ring chains I only put a squirt on each day to keep the rollers lubed, but I don't use too much as it will only collect grit and make me a member of the DWC.

I guess I’m the only person using gear oil in an old school plunger type oil can?
A continuous drizzle on either side of the chain (o ring), then wipe excess off. No flinging, chain looks clean and dirt and dust stay away.
I put over 60,000km on a VFR without having to replace the chain, almost no stretch either.

Way cheaper than those goopy spray cans too...

    Cheers

These test of 'dry' lubes is interesting. I want to try the DuPont if I can get some here.
