Hi folks. I’ve just bought my first bike a second hand cbf250 and need some help from you knowledgeable folks.
When running and sitting in neutral the bike runs and sounds nice and smooth and how I’d expect, but if the clutch is pulled in a knocking sound occurs. Same as well when riding the same noise spreads when pulling in the clutch lever. I’m pretty handy with the tools and can fix a car no worries but would like a bit of an idea of what I might be looking for or where to start looking. I’m attaching a video I took of the bike just sitting idling in netraul with the clutch being pulled in and out so the sound can be heard.
Any advice on what could be the cause or where to start looking would be greatly appreciated.

    Welcome.
If it only makes a noise when the clutch is disengaged, then I would lift the cover and have a look at clutch bearing in centre of the clutch basket.

Hi murdo thanks for that. I’m sort of looking for a short list of possible stuff to turn my attention to first and I thought other owners might be the ones to offer advice on what to look at or for, I’ll make that my first place to look. Should get time tomorrow on my day off to have a look see.
    Thanks mate
