That's the bastard that was stopping mine from starting unless I wound out the fuel mixture screws all the way. It was only the third time I hard the carbys off that I managed to get that passageway clear and then it started behaving itself.

You have those sorts of passages on pumper carbs, too. Usually they have a leak jet to help meter the fuel. But it seems like no 2 carbs are the same, as though you have prove that you did R&D to improve it over the last model...

Would love to take the credit , it was Henry who helps out at the shop . We were tracing the choke circuit when a customer came in, I went away for 10 mins then came back and he has found the issue, a few sprays of threebond and some compressed air freed it up

on Friday I took it for a ride and couldn’t get it into 3rd or any higher gears , @Phil removed the shift linkage and it was dry and tight from sitting , he degreased and cleaned it all up, he put some fresh lube on the pivot and now it goes through all the gears as it should. We also noticed the front caliper was in poor shape , the dust seal was in bits , so I found a spare caliper and swapped it out. The brakes are now
Awesome. All that is left is to do the fork seals and I think it is ready for sale

got a call from a mate (Russell the love muscle) who I used to knock around with at school , he is divorced and has met a new lady who wants to learn to ride, his first bike was an Across so he was pretty keen to take a look at this one. After some tooing and froing yesterday, we landed on a price where I had to do the fork seals, service it and get a RWC, that was done this morning and the mighty across is now headed for the Sunshine Coast and I am sure Russell will be revving its tits off and playing with her tits in no time because her bought her a bike.

Just to put a period on this issue with the BSW27 Mikuni...

If anyone is experiencing issues with their choke, you might also want to check your bowl gaskets as they can flatten and block some of the Choke emulsion tube holes. LiteTek have a great kit that contains new bowl gaskets and also choke O-rings which can also cause issues with the choke working properly.
