I've contacted them a few time's and have spoken with their service manager when their Frankston shop wasn't that old
He was so helpful and even pulled apart one of their race pit bike's for me to check some measurement's, their technical knowledge is pretty good too.
I have a 2012 Braaap Pro Daytona 190F 4V race pit bike that i bought secondhand, it's been pretty reliable for me
New my bike was $4700 (i didn't pay that much!) , they are a little overpriced but it's still going strong, Engi fork's, Elka rear shock Cro-moly frame and billet hub on the wheel's standard.
It is a handful to ride and i've scared myself quite a few time's on it, only had 1 big off and i fractured 4 rib's and punctured a lung which took me 3 month's to get over (also had the flu about 6 week's into that time, and while working under the car i had a coughing fit and broke 3 of those 4 fractured rib's
A similar quality bike that was around back then was the Pitsterpro LXR 190FDX which sold for about $4200 new
A European company YCF also sold pretty much the same pitbike as the Braaap, it just used different plastic's and decal's with a couple of other minor change's

Brad is a highly motivated speaker / Entrepreneur and appreciate's his staff and customer's, he's done pretty well for himself especially if you consider he is only 32 year's old now.
There was a court case against him over alleged forgery of motorcycle manufacture plates, but i don't know the outcome from that

Braaap released a similar 250cc cafe racer around 2014, and it had the option of a 450cc engine, not sure how his sale's have gone with them.
I haven't seen one on the road over here, but there hasn't been too many dealer's here that sell them.

I'm back in Tassie in 2 weeks, so I'll pop in and see if the doors are open. I think the $1,990 "special" price is designed to get money ASAP and pay any creditors who chase them through normal channels. If the article had said they were in Administration I would say they were trying to trade out of their predicament, but Liquidation has a finality about it. Although, they did say it was the Wholesale business that was in liquidation, so maybe the retail arm is still an ongoing concern.

I thought the Tasmanian shop's closed down a few year's ago

You pays your money and takes your risk.
Personally, nah, I don’t even like the look of it. Not a massive fan of the flat black look at the best of times.

Trading while insolvent is a crime, however that won't help anyone get there money back unfortunately

Yes, I sought of agree with you. Without doing too much homework on this chap and his company, it may actually be that circumstances conspired against him. The original re-birthing charges, that probably started the downward spiral, don't seem to point the finger directly at the owner. And, the knock-on affect of that negative press has probably got us to this point. If he's not guilty of any wrong doing, then it's a terrible shame. He's young, so hopefully he will learn from this and make better decisions in his next venture.

It looks like the re-birthing was just someone getting ahead of themselves, and shipping out bikes which were road legal, but hasn't had various parts changed as they were supposed to, likely in the need for cash flow, which is a shame as it seems to brought with it much more serious consequences to the business

Why would you have ALL the bulbs replaced? Maybe a faulty regulator?
Too dear for what it is.
