So, the Qld TMR website has a free quote estimate for registration, and a comparison table for various registrations across the different states and territories of Australia: https://www.qld.gov.au/transport/registration/fees/comparison#motorcycle

But as a quick view, here's motorcycle 2seater rego:
    Screenshot_20191116-082436.jpeg
Curious how other countries compare, too? I know the UK makes you get third party property insurance as part of rego (I recommend people have this if they won't or can't afford to get comprehensive insurance). Which is an immense inconvenience because you have to get a quote based upon the vehicle and driver/drivers. I want third party property insurance attached to me, so it doesn't matter what vehicle I'm in, I'm covered!

NSW doesnt have single/double seat rego but is judged on CCs I believe

The Daytona 675 rego was $280.07 for 12 months including CTP so I dont know where they get their figures from
It has comprehensive insurance for $8,450 at about $820 a year

Single seat and double seat rego only changes the CTP in QLD - to the tune of $180/year. Maybe they used a triumph rocket 3 for price comparison?

Hmmm not sure how the Daytona was that cheap... I just looked at what the Spada will cost and it is $475 all up including transfer fee and CTP.
Rego and Transfer would be $186 and Greenslip is stupid at $288.00

Yea I questioned the girl at the NRMA when she said $149 for the green slip .... Im a long term member with a zillion policies but I dont think that comes into it with CTP ... maybe being regional helps

Jeez, can I register and green slip my Spada at your address lol.
I need to get out of Sydney.
Not sure what being regional has to do with Third Party Personal though. It is purely to cover other people and or the rider. I guess there are proportionately more people in Sydney area lol

All bike's are registered as Solo's here in SA unless you have notified them and have changed it to Dual Seater
For up to 250cc it's cheaper than above 250cc

    Rego cost's me $81 for 3 month's inc $18.70 CTP
Or for 12 month's it is $291 inc $74,80 CTP
I am in the metropolitan area too, 20 min's from Adelaide. We have to choose our CTP provider's now as well, we have a choice of 4

Vehicle transfer fee on a bike is $30 plus $20 stamp duty on a bike under $2000, $60 for under $3000, and $100 for bike's under $4000
An $8000 bike cost's $260 for stamp duty

In Qld, stamp duty is $3 for $100(or part thereof) of dutiable value...

Yeah, nah, it's an old bike, probably only worth a couple of bucks - says the guy with a fully restored Honda 750-4.

The NSW Greenslip Calculator can be found at https://www.greenslips.nsw.gov.au/. I can't suggest strongly enough that everyone use this govt service every time their green slip becomes due for payment. As hesitant as I am to dam a whole industry given the apparent random nature of price changes and variations of green slip prices in NSW there is something terribly dishonest going on with pricing. My assumption is the entire industry depends on people NOT doing a price check every year and they virtually take turns at being the cheapest,(possibly slightly hysterical on my part), and the dearest.
Over the last 5 years or so there has only been a couple of times that a particular company remains the cheapest provider 2 years running and they all have their fingers crossed that the majority of victims,(clients) wont shop around, instead paying through the nose while hundreds of dollars can be saved by purchasing elsewhere.. The risk/claim/profit statistics they supposedly use to calculate prices simply cannot change as wildly as their pricing structures sometime do. One company cant reasonably be the cheapest one year and the dearest the next. Sometimes this will be a price jump of $200 to $300 dollars for the same car 2 years running for no apparent reason.
Even doing a google search for the NSW Govt Greenslip calculator is fraught with danger. A number of private providers are paying for top spot in the google listings and amazingly, they will give a totally different price comparison to the NSW govt site.
Please ALWAYS shop around and use the NSW GOVT GREENSLIP CALCULATOR, these prices change month to month.

I'm pretty sure Qld government sets the price of CTP in QLD. All 4 providers have the exact same price.

3rd party is a money making scam for the companys , you get difference medical and payouts in difference states , vic is (or was )the best and fairest , yrs ago the vic gov started a priv gov company to handle all 3rd party with all profits to be put back into the company , have a accident then you got the best medical and rehab money could buy and they still managed to accumulate a massive bank balance ..20 odd yrs ago when vic was broke they pinched 100 million out of TAC a/cs to use elsewhere regardless of the regs in place regarding profits ..in the other states where the companys dont have anywhere the same obligations just think of what a cash cow 3rd party is .. in qld fairly sure the companys get together and set the fees .. theres a word for that isnt there .... anyway ill get off my soapbox BUT i do think it stinks ... by the way having had the exsperience of going through vic 3rd party and even now 20yrs on they are still paying some of my medical without any dramas .. not like some mates in qld with simmiler probs

The best place to crash is in Victoria. A mate crashed his cbr954 in Omeo, broke two arms and a leg, got airlifted to Melbourne, along with all the emergency services attending the scene... all free... and he was visiting from NSW with the rest of us, TAC paid for everything.

Third party DOESN'T cover the driver at fault. You did it, you pay your own medicals. Qld has a system for unregistered vehicles, too, like when my mate had a head-on with an MX bike that was on the wrong side of the road. I also found out that a lawyer can access the 000 call recording from the incident... Off topic

thats the beauty of VIC 3rd party .. its no fault for medical .. even if drunk or drugged you still get top med and rehab not thrown onto public health system ... what is the system for unregistered ??? in qld goes to show how much goes into insurance companys pockets

in qld the local restorers club got the rego for historical vehicals dropped but trouble is the cpi still the same so hasnt really made much difference , we also have a lot more restrictions on historical rego then else where , personally find it easier to solo rego my bikes than club rego ...what all the motor clubs historical or other should get together and try to get this cash cow lowered

The NSW Historic Rego Trial has recently been converted to a permanent fixture and its bloody fantastic as long as people play by the rules. Any road registerable vehicle 30 years or more old is eligible You can opt to use a log book that gives you unlimited road usage for 60 days of the year plus any official club runs. All for the princely sum of $46 per year for road tax and green slip combined. I really suspected they would have upped the fees by now but quite uncharacteristically after a number of years the price has held steady.. There are one or 2 traps for the unwary though.. If you don't have your log book signed and dated and in your possession and you have an accident you are legally unregistered and personally libel for any 3rd party claims and if your club membership expires the same fairly hefty consequences can ensure. You can also be fined the same amount as any other unregistered driver if the log book isn't present and correctly up to date.

wish had that system up here ,at the moment for bikes solo rego is only a bit dearer with a lot of restrictions though if you own a old car definitly worth while
