Cutting 3mm aluminium?

    I have a 300x360x3mm aluminium plate coming, how would I go about cutting it to shape?
    also what are thoughts on using epoxy instead of welding?

    Take it to a machine shop, they will knock it out for you and probably weld it on for you as well.

    Lol u totally know what its for! I have been blabbering about the same stuff for weeks! engine protection plates.
    Oh and just for anyone that is reading this and thinking of doing the same I got my plate for 37$ (including shipping) from http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ALUMINIUM-SHEET-PLATE-380mm-X-300mm-X-3mm-/121274363997
    bloody bargain and 3mm thick is a great thickness (i think).

    but I take it we are against epoxy?

    Variable speed table top bandsaw with a medium fine blade is what I use on my 3mm aluminium plate, very noisy though.

    Methacrylate for bonding over epoxy - epoxy is great for laminating and bonding between itself on completed and prepared surfaces

    I've seen the epoxy peel straight off of surfaces that it's just didn't like

    BTW a jigsaw with a narrow metal blade can work wonders and cut well either from above or below through a small hole in a table or piece of ply etc with the jigsaw attached with some screws
