It's a chopper style push bike, with an engine fitted

It would be easier to get full compliance, strangely enough... If you can get the compliance data for the parts you put on it.

You can get 50cc - 80cc engine conversion kit's for them online, and you can get an electric version (Schwinn copy) from china too

Doubt you could register them though
Orange County Chopper's had their own version too

Bit of a difference from a 50cc or 80cc engine to a 250cc that this bloke has put into his. I think the Chief has the right idea for this bike.

Petrol powered motorised push bikes are pretty much totally illegal in nsw these days.. there is a highly restrictive horse power/ kw limits for both petrol and electric push bikes and the coppers enforce the law on petrol powered bikes fairly fiercely.. some of the issues were most of the Chinese conversion kits were virtually totally unmuffled and there was a spike in fatalities when they became popular.. you can build your own special in Victoria but you have to get it passed by an engineer, It’s almost impossible in nsw without a compliance plate. I’d suggest registering this in any state would be impossible..

200w limit on just about anything that is unregistered. That rules a lot out of legal contention.

Long been looking for an FZR250 and a ZXR250, but very scarce here. I know I should check everyday but it gets to be a pointless exercise. Lo and behold a 3LN6, and not too shabby. Original parts and doesn't look like it has been down the road 23 times. Sold two weeks ago for 28000 THB (1348 AUD).

I love the seller's description of the ZXR400...

    Seller's Description

With great reluctance and sadness, the time has come to sell my beloved ZXR400. There are only three things this bike is good at. 1. Revs 2. Corners 3. Sweet 90's pink-stickers style.

Comfort? Nope. Low-down torque? Nope. Luggage space? Ha! Modern whiz-bang gadgetry? Don't be absurd. No, this motorcycle has none of these things. Instead it has (in my humble assessment) four of the finest cylinders to have ever issued forth from the bowels of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, in those halcyon 1990's days when manufactures made a top-shelf 750cc race bike, and then copy-pasted it all into a 400cc just for jollys. None of this modern para-twin snoozebox in a waterbed frame with waterbed springs with grandpa geometry and ABS and TC just in case all three of the horsepowers somehow made you poop yer dacks.

No sir. This bike was built proper, with 60 ponies available only at the very peak, and with rewards only for the faithful. But you already knew all that. You came for revs and corners, and by golly, ye shall have them. As with all 400 4-cylinders, nothing happens until about 8,000rpm, when all comes alive: howling like a banshee all the way to 15k, all the day long and through as many bends as your heart desires. The back will be sore and the grin will be large, and that's about all there is to say. I have owned the bike since 2014, having bought it off a friend who had himself brought it over moving from the UK.

Mechanically great condition, all round in very tidy shape with expectable wear and tear for a bike old enough to have voted long enough to have become bored of the process. Can need a little choke to start but otherwise offers no complaints. Not tracked or stacked in my time. Regularly serviced, carbs recently refreshed and fresh battery. Single-seat rego to August. Very sad to let it go, but life-stage sees me heading towards something with a pillion seat and panniers (8th gen VFR800F perhaps?), and the time has come to pass it on for someone else to enjoy.

*Not LAMS approved **Obviously not a ZXI.. Facebook just lacks the sophisticated motorcycling taste to list anything of the ZXR group

The rvf400 is LAMS approved, but not the ZXR/CBR/vfr/fzr/gsxr. I thought they were. RD400 is LAMS approved, go figure...

There was a ZXR400 here for sale in the same kind of condition. Owned by a foreigner. 150000 THB (7200 AUD). As for the FZR250 I posted about, turns out it's not sold but does not have a 'green book' so very little chance of ever getting it registered, and 50000 THB if you achieve the miracle of getting it done.

Project or spare parts. GZP250 one working bike and one donor bike. The main bike is a 1987 GPZ250. Last time this bike was registered was back in 2005. Has been sitting in a locked garage since.

Starts very easily, but I never took it for a ride. Carbies have been cleaned, but not tuned. Will need a good clean, battery, tyres, sync the carbies, check suspension, grease and oil everything. As said before, bike has been in storage for the past 15 years.

It has the engine, nose and dash from the donor bike, a 1999 model, with 9,XXX Ks only. Original engine with 84,XXX ks shows on the pictures, inside a milk crate, included in the sale. Was told "it makes strange sounds". I didn't swap the engines, so I can't tell you much about it.

    Video of engine running:

I think this guy is "dreamin"

The seller says he's interested in a swap. I'd swap him $50 for that parts bike!
