    Good morning fellas,

I've had a good old gander through the previous post but can't really find info on this, so if any of you could help that would be greatly appreciated!!!

I'm currently doing up a 3ln3 (with the original engine) and it has been stored at a mates shed for the last 13 years which i have found that there a couple of bits and pieces that are now missing. I've just seen that for some reason someone has removed the ratcheting bolt out of the cam chain tensioner. I'm planning on checking/re-shimming the valves and check the timing anyway before i fire it up but i'm not sure exactly the type and size of the bolt thats missing so i'm thinking it'll be a drama trying to replace it.

I've got another FZR stored in my Dads shed (about 2hrs away) but its a 3ln1 (that i'm using as a donor/parts bike), so i'm wondering if the cam chain tensioner from this engine will bolt straight on to my 3ln3 engine.

Would anyone be able to confirm that it'll fit or be able to point me in the direction of any information?

    Cheers,
    Johno

Cheers for the quick reply GreyImport, thats a big help :thumb_ups:

As my cam chain tensioner is still bolted to the engine case but the top bolt has been removed , does this mean that the tension on the cam chain has been lost? Or would it still be applying tension to the cam chain?

They are a ratchet type, if the bolt and springs have been removed the ratchet mechanism will hold the plunger against the camchain. The ratchet has to be manually reset to remove tension.

@my67xr was that all off the top of your head lol? Cheers for that.

I'm gonna go up to Dad's tomorrow, so i'll pinch the tensioner off the other motor and also a few of the other bits too.
