May have been asked before but does it matter if coils 1&4 run to the yellow connector and 2&3 go to the white connector in the loom or the other way , or irrelevant? Loom making 101
Ok so the 3LN6 here was running before it was parked .... yellow connector goes to the 'top' coil which runs #1&4 .... so Ill go with that
I had triggering issues on my build and got them crossed over. Had flames in the intakes, quite exciting.
Your second picture is missing the yellow terminal lock on the left And do you have the boot's for those coil's, the one's that sit just below the top's of the coil's ?
That terminal lock is still in the connector ... thats how they come in the pack No boots came with them .... theres some on the set of 4840s I have. I guess they seal the 'join' in the sticks there as they sure wont be sealing anything in the rocker cover of the FZR like they would in their normal line of duty .... they stick out a mile
I used some sign writing vinyl on mine to help seal the top, could use some 25mm glue lined / double walled heatshrink too i slid the rubber's down so they sit against the head and they stop the coil's from vibrating https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Heat-Sh...a=1&pg=2334524&_trksid=p2334524.c100667.m2042
Yea some big heatshrink sounds a winner ..... I was checking earlier about how much they will vibrate as nothing is supporting the top ends ... especially redlining in each gear
What length are your coil's ? Mine are 5" long, top to bottom, there is 1.5" of it sitting above the rover cover
Yep same ..... and having that rubber grommet down low certainly locks them into place 100% though That outer plastic casing actually moves .... it ended up at the top while I was trying to squeeze on some heat shrink ... Ill do the heat shrink anyway , as red is 'go fast' yea but John Holmes could fit his penis into that cavern ... the FZR is more refined
The metal looking part under the plastic layer could be some sort of RF shielding, Ferrite sheet to stop electric field's and magnetic field's from affecting any other electronic's
#3 is a bit of a tight fit cuz of the thermo housing Just need a test run to see if they actually work or moreso that the technician wired them correctly
