Decided that I no longer have the time nor money to spend on this bike. I'd rather be putting money into my current bikes that I ride. Whereas, even if I did finish this bike, the likelihood of it being registered and ridden would be nil - so no longer see the point in keeping it and fixing it. As well as the fact that I might be moving for work and as such, I don't want to take it with me, so want it gone out of the garage. Australian model Suzuki GSF250V Bandit with Variable valve timing. 1999/2000 model Comes with 2 motors Original motor had a bad bottom end knock and other problems, so replaced it with another exactly the same model (Red Rocker Cover variable valve timing motor) which is in the bike and running. Second motor purchased from a wrecker in South Sydney for $450. See Video here of the replacement motor running. Some pics in this thread from when it was first purchased and some of the work done https://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/project-gsf250v-restoration.10566/ Purchased new genuine Suzuki fuel tap for $120 with proper vacuum operation. New genuine Foot brake lever as the original was broken ($100) Various painted engine parts not yet fitted. (See pics in thread above) all parts there to put it back on the road. Tank is in the middle of being prepped for re-spray so has some small bits of filler on it to fill in some shallow dents smaller than finger nail size. Fuel tank has had a tank liner put through it - so no rust. Liner was done properly. No leaks in tank. There was never any rust in the tank, but wanted to put the liner through it to stop any surface corrosion as I didn't know how long it would be in regards to the rebuild of this bike. Replaced clutch lever and clutch switch as previous owner had non-OEM lever and done a wire by-pass on the clutch switch. front brake caliper has had a rebuild and new seals and brake fluid installed. Want $600, but open to offers as I would prefer it not to be in the garage if I end up moving. But even if I don't, I've no interest in finishing the bike and would rather move it on and get some garage space back. Send me PM if you are interested.
