Hi. So, today I did a rash thing and bought a box of bits that allegedly, when bolted together, make up an FZR250. It all looks promising so far. Frame and engine numbers match and I think I have at least 80% of a bike there. What state the engine is in is yet to be determined but will have some fun tinkering with this mini beast.

We are located on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. I have completed a restoration and rebuild of an FZR600 and just started restoring a second FZR600 but got a tempting offer of the 250 so thought I would add that to the stable and have some fun. She's not much to look at right now but hopefully this ugly little duckling will be turned into a swan at some stage in the future.

Hi Chris. Going well thanks mate and thanks for all your help with getting my FZR600 parts - and putting me onto that "R6" that we both knew was an FZR600. That's now my second project. So might be a while before I get onto this FZR250. My research so far, thanks to this forum and the FZR250 FB page has determined that it's a 1988 2kr 3hx1. But I am sure it shares many components with other models of the late 80s and early 90s - footpegs, controls, brakes etc.

Yes, that's what my research is suggesting. A 1988 3hx1 variant.
