One of nephews had been riding the quad for a bit, but decided he wanted a bike of 2 wheels for him. I didn't have any kids bikes, but thought we try to make something up out of the stuff I have. Didn't realise I had so much. An xr200 frame, with a Hyosung shockie, and there was a Honda 125 engine here... Might take a bit of work...
Managed to get the ass end of the cbx installed, the tank has some paint bubbles so it has been sent off to be lined and the bubbles sanded out and paint touched up. Big thanks to the big cheese @GreyImport for finding me some carb seals and washers so I can finish the carb rebuild . I found this guy Rolland skate in Melbourne who has been rebuilding cbx’s for 20 odd years and he has helped me out with a fairing harness at a very reasonable price and some priceless advice in getting this back to running order. Tomorrow I will be rebuilding the brake cylinders with kits I got from wemoto, it could be registered in a couple of weeks if my seat cover and grips arrive from the uk. I need to find an Oem left hand mirror , but everyone is telling me they are unobtainium , I reckon that is all I need to finish it.

Spent part of the day straightening out the rear hoop on the SL125 frame... ended up cutting it (not all the way through), getting it all back straight and then welding it up again... Hardest part was spending ages getting my welding skills back to a point where I was comfortable attacking the frame... and getting the obligatory TIG burn.. lol I then decided to play with the SRX for a while (spreading the love around). Wiring is mostly installed and cable tied in position... Carby is on and Air-box is on.. they are a cow of a thing to get to line up.. not as bad as an inline 4 but still a bit of a pig. Overall a good day spent in the Garage
Carb day for the CBX, they have been cleaned once, but one my neighbours in the complex we work in just bought a 10K ultrasonic cleaner, looking forward to seeing how they come out.
It isn’t an issue when you spend $10k on your Ultrasonic cleaner though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Lots of heat! We have our (much cheaper) one at about 90°C. But I'm assuming that if they are spending $10k on one, they're going to something about them.
Hmm note to self, next time I break out the TIG I should also make sure I wear both gloves and the welding sleeves. Weld radiation burn is not clever Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
