    Hi Michael
What's happened to the original motor , is it not worth repairing ?. I'm unsure if your engine and frame match , if it does , it would be worthwhile to keep the original motor as matching number's have a lot better re-sale value for the future.

We have some member's doing up there GSX 250's , they may be able to help IF they have spares that is.

There is a nice one on Gumtree for sale , but it's in QLD.

Thanks for your reply and information 250cc.jpg .. Yes the motor and frame are original. Its just that the engine is high Ks and would need some work. Wasn't sure how easy it would be to find parts like pitons, bearings and rings etc.

    Hi Michael
No problem , happy to help.
Roughly how many K's on the engine ?. It may just need the top end done , but it depend's how it was looked after /abused.
My SRX 250 had 50,000 + on the speedo and the top end definitely needed rebuilding. The bottom end was sound , but since i had to send the motor away i had the everything done. The motor will see me out !.

If you can work out what you need , i can check with my guy to see what he has. Just a quick look on Google , i started to find part's.

Found this on our Forum , it may help.

Thanks again... Its done about 80,000 Klm. I would'nt attempt to strip until I know I can get some rings and gaskets at least. I'm happy with the bottom end so its just the top I would do. Thanks for any help.

    Hi Buddy
At those K's it would needs some work done , especially the top end. Iv'e found listing's for gasket set's already via a quick search.
But as for the bore you'd have to pull it down to see what you need first. Unless someone has done the top end recently , your going to need more than ring's at those k's. My SRX 250 had 50, 000 + and it was showing sign's of burning / drinking oil , a re-bore was needed.
Look into what size piston kit's are available first , at'least this way you know what you can get when the time comes. I can email my contact to see what's available for piston's if you have trouble buying O.E piston's. Just PM me.

Have a look on the link's i sent earlier , this will help you see what you can purchase without touching the bike yet.
