My Titanium Cerakote has dried into a sludge in the bottle so black it is.

Back to the RH switch. Because the Tefzel wire I used is a lot smaller in diameter it leaves a gaping hole coming out of the switch. The mud wasps will love it, so I made a grommet to fit.

Just ordered an Ohlins shock to suit the fake CBR250RR from Webike Thailand. Cost 10250 THB delivered.
I will send it to the Ohlins factory here and they will strip it and send the clevis to me. Then I will bang up some shorter Titanium versions to suit the MC22. I will also get them to change the spring, damping and a new bump rubber if the stroke needs adjusting.

Had my spare swingarm powder coated in texture black, same as my Yamaha, and the other bits in satin. Not sure whether I should have done the suspension rockers to match the swingarm but will see what it looks like assembled. Next step is to drop the engine out, clean it up and powder coat the frame. I am hoping to get enough new products online in the next few months that I can get a more professional TIG (Chinese one was just a waste of money) and finish the sub-frame and Ti exhaust, fingers crossed.

Changed the 3 parts to also be texture black. The satin was too shiny for my liking and looked like plastic.

    Poor Neglected Honda:
Some progress. The frame and other bits are going out for powdercoat and the fasteners for nickel plating. I ordered a YSS rear shock coz Ohlins don't make the unit for the CBR250 (new single cylinder version) anymore. Also picked up another Ducati top clamp off eBay (probably take 7 weeks to get here) to Clampenstein the Honda version. Don't like their stupid triple nut nonsense. Also bought a wet blasting attachment for my high pressure water blaster and will try it out on the engine.

Turns out Tyga have some Ohlins shocks for the new CBR250 (almost a sports bike) things, so I got lucky. Have sent it off to Ohlins to be modded, but they were a bit sceptical. Anyway see how it turns out.
Bit lighter too, though that will change when I fit the heavier spring.

Hi all, I have made an update to the first post in this thread to include an artist's drawing of what's in my head. No, not the sawdust, the other stuff. I will also engage his services at a later date to do both the R4 and the YZF300 ghost project.
    Cheers

Very interested in shoving a CBR250R shock into MC22 performance/fit. When I had a 2011 250R previous owner included some shock off of another bike that is a "common upgrade" for it, but I never used it. Remote reservoir, blah blah blah. Looked fancy, but I was never able to push that bike beyond it's limits with stock suspension, and I rode the piss out of that bike.

The modern CB250R shock, including the Ohlins version, is a bad fit for the MC22, but a perfect fit for the FZR250. I decided to just buy an off the shelf YSS for the MC22 and keep the Ohlins as is, for the upcoming Yamaha.

Had to pop the steering stem out because I want to make a new Titanium one for the Clampenstein conversion.
Start by machining the weld off.
    StemRemoval_00_Small.jpg
Then made some a guide and spacers to be able to press the stem out from either side.
    StemRemoval_01_Small.jpg
I pressed from the top otherwise I would have had to raise my press carriage and it is heavy. The spacers are held in centre by the guide that you can see above. I don't use V blocks on my press, just thick pieces of steel with holes in them.
    StemRemoval_04_Small.jpg
    and out it pops.

If you've got the 3D printed bracket, what about casting the bracket rather than CNC? I imagine 3D metal printing is also inhibitingly expensive.

Audio is a it up and down, I did notice that you're wearing a lapel mic, but you're not using the audio at times - in that case I'd just go to still frames or other video of what you're showing/explaining and voice over - it's all a learning curve

EDIT - just watched a little further and you do exactly this PFFT - armchair experts, I notice you blamed Project Binky :lolsign:

Sorry, too much time on film and TV sets making me an armchair expert here, so take my comments as encouragement as I know it's a lot of work to put anything together

@ShaneP Casting: Yes it has a lot of merit, and I have thought about casting a lot, but there a whole host of reasons why for this part it is not going to be an option. But I am considering it for other parts and please keep the suggestions coming.

@ruckusman Yes, I know it is terrible and I need all the help I can get. :) My desk microphone and the lapel microphone give a completely different result. At the beginning of the 2nd vid I plugged the lapel microphone into a smartphone. Just a horrible result in every way. I am sort of getting sick of the "smart phones are the best" way of thinking. For most of the rest of video 2, it is the same microphone plugged into a Nikon DSLR. It is an expensive camera that my friend lent to me and would take an eternity to learn how to use. You can see my wife manually zooming it. I am starting to think that if I could sort the remote microphone out then a good old camcorder might be a solution. At least it is a device that is designed for the purpose.

I cannot be a lot of assistance with audio, never done it professionally myself, I know it's a bear to get right, FWIW, when I did have to do DSLR camera work AND audio however, there was a Rode microphone kit which nailed it, not a lot of $$ either.

All of that said, don't buck the trend with smartphones, you need something works...

One last option is a Gopro 7 - heaps of camera guys actually use them as audio backup on the cameras and they're very popular for in car shots that require good quality audio - not suggesting the fisheye of a gopro image, but it's a very viable option for the audio.

FWIW - the Nikon DSLR should have some way to monitor and potentially adjust the incoming audio level
