Bike has been purchased and picked up .... thanx to @Andych :thumb_ups:
Nice work also to @KiwiMat for posting up the original "for sale"

It looks to be in decent shape and no "rusty" bits
    Matching engine and frame numbers
This is what we have ....

It looks to be well installed and a decent bracket, etc ..... bit of a bonus there I think

    Good stuff.
It looks to be in reasonable shape.
A good start for any project.

To be honest... everything looks to be pretty good on it... I was surprised how nice the chain and swingarm etc are... normally they are caked with muck but this one isnt. Wiring looks to be "interesting" especially at the rear.

    Well bought!

I'd had that on my gumtree watch list for months, you saved me from getting yet another bike by buying it, not to mention I just don't have the space anyway

    New hot rod delivered !

@Andych .... after a bit of push and shove , gears and clutch working (I think) :D
Both tyres are sport demons ... front 2014 and rear 2013 and no crazing so should be fit for purpose

Before the spanners come out ...

That's going to make a great track bike. Will any of the FZR250 plastics fit on that frame?

Maybe you need to register a forum like... 4hundredcc.com? I normally go to this one whenever I'm looking for anything '400cc' http://www.400greybike.com/forum/index.php

    The sun went down !

Alot of the unwanted extras are off .... the wiring at the front is a nightmare
I watched the clutch basket thru the oil filler and its moving but the plates are stuck I think .... It looks like the oil is over filled so Ill drain it and see what its like and maybe pour it back in over the clutch

Inside the fuel tank looks pretty good

Bit more fettling tomorrow and maybe an attempt at a startup :D

I've got a set of gauges, 3TJ, though I don't expect any changes, I also have a front fairing subframe, again 3TJ, the question would be is the attachment point different at the frame
That is a 3TJ swingarm BTW, which is a good thing

    @ruckusman
From my limited knowledge of the 400 it seems there were alot of "differences" thru the models
Im hoping the digital cluster actually works !
The front stay is something I was hoping to find .... Ill ask on the FB group if its compatible
Im surprised the lads in that group didnt pickup the different swingarm , but yes good to have a positive like that

If the digital gauge doesn't work, holler - I just checked the gauge cluster wiring, it's got one nine pin plug and three individual wires.

Looked on Impex, I'd say the front fairing stay won't be compatible if you're going to go for 1WG upper fairing, it's akin to the differences between 3LN1 and 3LN3 fairing differences; twin globe -> single globe
The looks across the FZR model group evolved in unison it seems

So the fuel tank and airbox wernt attached so they were easy to remove to clean inside and out .... fuel tank bolts are MIA though ..... and the fuel tap is the special issue wing nut model

Looks like we have an electrical problem .... apart from the shitfight at the front , which may be the cause .... someone has put in a 30 amp fuse and as u can see in the pic its not well
Im waiting on a pic of the 3EN2 fuse box but someone has said its the charging circuit and should be a 20 amp .... yay an electricial issue :aggressive:

The original wiring looks pretty good ... still has the tags in place

Carbys look to have been there a long long time but we shall attempt a start before I do them .... I best order some viton from Mr Feather :D

Found info on the digital dash also

Good work Mr Grey. I'm sure you will have it sorted in no time. Well I had to get rid of the Google Drive symbol so the feather it it is. It harkens back to the original plan for my business, to make lightweight bits for motorcycles. However, the first motorcycle I bought had rotten carbs and now look what has happened. In other news, sorry about the price rises but trying to avoid death. :)

That is a 3EN1 and I have a genuine parts book. If you need some part numbers just say the word.
