Cooling system rust

    Best way to flush rust from the radiator?
    Previous owner has just used tap water as coolant

    Disconnect the hoses off both ends of the radiator and reverse flush with garden hose. That'll get most of the gunk out. Then you can use the solutions from an auto store. Check the thermostat. Could be cactus too.

    Run the hose thru the engine as well.

    Do it only with engine cold. !!!!
    With the cold water from hose in hot engine will cause cracking of the alloy.

    you must take the thermostat out to flush it properly with a hose.
