    Whats in the kit ?
I've got a very worn valve that needs a rebuild & didn't bother getting into it cause I didn't think parts would be available.
DOH, I just had a look on their site, cables !
My cables are ok, the valve bushes are shot. I'll get some made when the time comes.

I bought a genesis one on ebay looked identical to the one that was on the bike, except silly me got slightly smaller than old one 8mm instead of 10mm at each end would this matter? Arrow is pointing towards back of bike, If i take fuel hose off fuel gushes out of it :-/

I did that once myself stu!! I double checked that they were correct when i put tank back on.

Moo as far as google tells me there is one in cork i live in the middle of nowhere county waterford lol and ive no transport at the moment :( Im slightly afraid to open up the exup covers all looks quite rust and siezed i see rounded and sheered allen bolts in the near future lol the carby rubbers on ebay are like 60+ 20 i think for postage each im so poor ryt now just bought a yamaha leather jacket!

Linkin whats that and how much do you want for it? Do shot bushes cause poor idle?

Grasshopper i know yea imagine thats 692 Australian!

Mate going on the Yamaha site its saying Doherty's in Waterford city are a Yamaha dealer. 30 Mayors walk, Waterford. but again, not knowing how far out in the sticks you are, not sure if thats of help....and its also saying last updated 2007 haha and I've been gone from Dublin since 2008 so i have no idea who up there is still a Yammy dealer...but i can find out if you like?

try litetek carb kits if your doing a rebuild.

It will only matter if it leaks. Couple of hose clamps may help you with this. Arrow should be pointing in direction of fuel travel. Fuel probably will gush out of it so drain the tank before messing with it. I take the tap off (two bolts) pull the hose out from the tap to the pump and only spill a little. Then you can poke the end in a jerry can and turn the tap on and drain it all out via gravity.

As for the EXUP, Just take the outer cover off, and take the cables off. Mine was pretty dirty but it's just a butterfly valve. If you can turn it by hand both directions I wouldn't worry about digging further. You'll probably just strip it out and create more issues. It's designed to take out the flat spots through the rev range so your bike won't run terribly it will just not run as well at places.

I wouldn't think the exup valve will make a difference because the actuator only operates to move the valve when you rev the bike, otherwise it sits in a position that would have little influence I'd think.

Yea i have been in with him few times he didnt want my custom on any occasion to be honest, first it was for helmet which he ordered got in on a monday sent my sister over to collect it on the Monday evening after work and he sold it to someone else that morning he tols her she and i were not impressed, while after that told him had fzr250r and he said oh yea brother had some years ago ive a box of spares thought great told him dig it out put a price on it or individual parts that id take it for spares there hard to get took my name and number never bothered getting back to me! So again after this i rang a local to me bike fella mostly sells, about my carb needles and diaphragms he recommended ringing doherty about them so i did told him i needed diaphragms and my needlea looked worn out an he said they would be very expensive and just kind of fobbed me off again really! I wont be able to travel. Much for a while sadly! Ive rebuilt the carbs with keyster kits which did the job Litetek would have probably been better but its done now :p

Stu i have two good clamps on either end of it i tried a universal filter before this one think was for a lawn mower as 3 shops in my local town had nothing to fit the bike and it ran like a pig with it so change for the genesis yamaha ebay one and ran good there after, if i get time today i will get over the fear and check the exup but its supposed to rain today and ive heap of bodywork to do on my sisters car bin juggling that and the bike all week

EXUPS aren't that complicated, just a simple butterfly valve. It moves freely without rattle it's probably good. It moves freely with rattle it's bearable (probably need some bushings or something). It doesn't move - problem :D

It's more of an issue if your actuator goes, once they're buggered they're kinda buggered.
