Howdy, Moo recommended here, looks good as its not limited to one model or brand.
Ideal place to put a couple long term projects up so the info is in one spot.

Ridden roadies & Raced dirt forever but only into track riding the past 4 yrs as the life expectancy is more sustainable.

In 2011 bought a brand new MC41 and spent 2 yrs belting it 4000km around Collie and Barbs learning and progressing thru the levels shredding tyres and chipping away at PB's , Was the best bike ever owned, it had no vices except for the Combined ABS (that's another story, my fault for wanting Black at the time) Every lap was enjoyable as the bike fitted like a glove and handled like a scalpel. Got to the stage we were sliding without a care in the world.

Late 2012 many were working hard behind the scenes to realise a dream and restore Production in WA from 2014 onwards, there was opposition at first but its a huge success story now,
    (hope it evolves some more)

Bought a secondhand Green bike which was an ASBK 2012 bike, never came to grips with Ninjas, mainly confidence in the feel (Or lack of) , but developed it into a fast racebike by getting to rev to 13,500 and run dinner plate 47T rear sprocket, ran 73.32 secs which was respectable at the time,
Met Moo and another few dozen good folk in Proddies,
On track its hardcore, might qualify on the front row and end up 10th in the blink of an eye, in the pits its very supportive, The coaching is good as well for those that jump in the deep end. some came from the Eastern states and ASBK but rode my ass off to bring home 3rd place for 2014.

2015 have sat out the year saving for new riding gear, trailer, setup etc and waiting for my R3,
Turned up 4 weeks ago, rode it for 3 days 400km then got ready to take it to Barbagallo last weekend.
Its the duck nuts and was worth the waiting patiently after mpnths of false starts.
light, fast and confidence inspiring was down to 72 secs by the 4th session .
Not bad for a first ride out of the box on road fairings scared to scratch the new pride and joy. will document 4 weeks work soon.
Got to have a good run with the current 250 and 300 racebikes and we just need to do the parity testing of the R3 and RC390 and Proddie racing will be like the 90's all over again, with more riders, manufacturers, sponsors, and fans. :)

Also have a CB125 called Poo,
An RZ ive owned since 1985 called (depending on mood) 'The Clusterfuck',
Also just bought a 1990 MC22 for P6 locally and the Island Classic, have Christened it 'The Relic' as its not running and cost less than a set of Proddie tyres.

I only did the one day at the track so far, but was in Group 3 so fast group,
Tim Boujos came out hounding me and then pulled a gap I couldn't close(He's Au number 1)
But the current leading 250 rider came out on his 300, same skill as me, similar results all last yr but a whole different style (he's from motard background) we did two 15 min sessions flatout the entire time,
The Ninja pipped me by a bikelength in the first one, I got the 300 by a bikelength in the second. (He is fierce like me but I needed more track time, instead of racing my mates at a track day haha)
His comments were that I ran more corner speed but my entries were slower, that would be I havnt set the brakes up yet and I was on 2 yr old DR2's I found in the shed., The R3 has more midrange, but that could be I fitted a non Oring racing chain to free it up.
R3 has less revs to play with (Its only 12250, gearing stock 43T is too low which I never would have assumed, I had a 45 ready to put on, actually need to try a 41)
Both bikes could slipstream eachother up top.
I saw 186kph speedo, Datalogger said 176 something, on the road these will show 190+ easy (Ignore US forums, they aint tryin and think 5000rpm is high revs or it will 'hurt their mpg's' haha)

Parity Schmarity its a load of bollocks, There is less parity between the entire field than picking hairs over one bikes strengths vs another. we need aftermarket shocks and quickshifters and free range on handlebars and controls etc etc etc
Where the R3 wins hands down for me simply newer dynamics, (Ninja 300 still has the old frame beneath the surface) and that gives confidence. Mass centralization, featherweight handling like a modern cbr 250/300, and an engine that is so crisp and addictive, doesn't even sound like a parallel twin because of the offset cylinder. No warbling through a bong like a Ninja sounds.
Gearbox is slick, I reversed the linkage.
Riding position is perfect, moved pegs 75 up/100mm back, swapped handlebars left to right and turned upside down. lowered the front 5.4mm, and ran a 10mm longer wheelbase with longer chain. (On the already LONG swingarm)
Didn't have any tank grip and a hundred other things I like to do for personal preference.

But we are doing more parity testing as I want the 390's in as well....
Should be 250 production (caters for juniors, entry level, and cheap)/500 production so Honda can join. then proddie racing will be BACK!
If you read the 2015 MOMS its rigged by Kawasaki, 200 bikes need to be sold! no drama for the big 4, but smaller manufacturers will never get a look in.

Moo was in a good position to see how it went, he's flying lately and seems to have found a few seconds pace since last year.

Welcome to the site, good to see another racer on here. Here in Tassie we have a Lites racing class which is basically anything goes up to 300cc. I'm also very interested to see how the R3 stacks up on track compared to the Ninja 300, KTM RC390 & older 4cl 250s. If they aren't miles quicker it would be good if we could allow these bigger CC bikes to race in the class.

Such a good bike for a learners, apparently now for racers too. That looks surprisingly good haha.

As much as I dislike it being an "R" series (because it's just a detuned MT in R series clothes)
Having ridden one it is such a damn nice bike! Keen to see more :)

Who thinks @Sumo should introduce himself, he's the second fastest MC22 Lamb in WA :p

Not quite sure I follow 'Detuned MT' they are chalk and cheese, one is half the weight of the tractor , twice the revs and uses twice the fuel (R3's are very thirsty for a modern injected bike) and eleventy billion times better power to weight.
R3s don't respond well to mods, they are not far off the limit from stock, 1-2hp max from a full system and tuning, and only at losses elsewhere in the range.
MT is an American FZ with half thee power to suit our Lams laws.
    That's the detuned one.
Yamaha got the recipe spot on with R3.

We are all learners mate, if we weren't we'd never get faster.
