True, but you know when you read bike mags and always there are ducati poser pictures.....you know the ones with their leather jackets open just sitting around on thier bikes....saw one once, a guy pulled up on a red ducati 900R, was wearing matching leathers and had knee pads with not a scratch on them. i went around his bike whilst he was paying for some coffee and hellooo the back tyre showed off a true poser sissy strip. Now you know they are posers when there's a sissy strip!

I'm surprised he hadnt got the emery board out after doing his nails and scuffed up his knee slider that way.

What defines a sissy strip? Is there an equation to determine if it's a chicken strip or a sissy strip?

Hero strip = 0mm <--> 4mm (?)
Chicken strip = 5mm <--> 15mm (?)
Sissy strip = 15mm+

I dont think he equated to the hero strip....the back tyre showed some tyre nipples can I say that? mind you could have been a new back tyre, who knows...but honestly the guy strutted past me with a cheesy smile and gave me a wink! and because I was still waiting for friends he caught me looking at his bike while sauntering back out with his coffee and said " sure is a looker aint it" all the while undressing me with his eyes! I just said" yeah not bad, shame for the rider though" and walked off! The man was a real poser!!!!

The best thing to do on the weekend is to go and find some hardly posers and bate them into scraping ther frames and make them red at the lights.

I always ask the posers "What are the knee pucks for?", as I prentend to be a newbie. I lead them on until I ask a final question of something like.... "So what do you do when you are coming in HOT on a blind, off-camber, decreasing radius, double-apex, downhill, left-hander?"

I always like to double back on the distro shims and redisjoint the curve to maximise the tyre rollback, causing optimal radial tilt.. Or.. not.
By that I mean I fall over, scratch the bike and get laughed at for trying to do a left hand elliptical turn that gets sharper, while going fast, heading down a slope, and not being able to see..

Also:
Haha. You said nipple.

And on a final note, Casso's link with the video of "crazy slalom guy" - he didn't use his knees.

FZR Dude. I don't even know the answer to the question. How about... Grab a fistfull of the front brakes and end up going of the edge of the mountain? ;-)

SR. FZR's are awesome, and you'll have your knee down in no time... but take it easy and it'll come naturally. Oh and here's one of me on Mt Mee in QLD.

Nice action shot Raaqi!

Personally i'll just keep my knee a few inches above the tarmac - Draggin's don't like that kind of treatment. ;)

Wanders of wondering how long it's going to be before i can leave this skint student lifestyle and actually have some money to spend on a two-piece suit, and some new boots, and another helmet, and a new bike.

PS. Have you got frame sliders on that bike Raaqi? Where'd you mount them to, and where'd you get them from?

Ah, that'd be it.
I'm not used to the stock square looking 'brick' indicators.

1. Grit your teeth, pray, clench buttocks and let 'pucker' factor take over.
2. Hope like hell those tyres are warmed up and scrubbed (and that the road is clean)
3. Wash off as much speed as possible running both brakes
4. Release both brakes, look right through the corner (or the furthest through the 'blind' corner you can ;) ) and drop that sucker into the corner harder and faster than you thought possible.
5. Continue to trail brake lightly to pull you in on a tighter line, until your at a speed to safely take the corner.
6. NEVER REPEAT THIS PROCESS AGAIN!

Been there, done that... glad i had practiced what to do, and got out of it safely. (All be it minus one hero-peg)

See Raaqi thats what I'm talkin about. When I do manage to get the knee down I'll be sure to post a pic of it for all you guys to see On another note, this is for the girls, do you have trouble finding gear thats fits? This maybe a New Zealand thing though.....I managed to score Alpine Stars 2 piece leather outfit size 6 after spending months trying on gear that didnt cater for my size...Im tall too which made it harder. The pants fit while in the riding position but the jacket abit too big for my liking Not fair!!!! you guys have it easy with all the great styles that are available I'm very limited

Haha you said "nipple" too TiMBus

Haha yeah, I found a brand new indicator in a pile of news paper that was used to pack a fairing I bought from a wreaker. Its not every day you get a freebie from those blokes. Have you gone and done a swap over from a different bike? I wouldn’t mind seeing pics. Mine suffer from a bit of road rash and I was contemplating replacing them when I get the sides painted.

Don't assume us guys have it easy when buying gear... if your anything other than the stereotypical 5'10" 'average' build it's pretty damn difficult to find non-custom gear that fits well.

My jacket is about a full size too big for me in the gut, but about right in the shoulders, and it's huge in the waist! For the most part it's fine during winter as it pads out nicely... during summer and it's too hot to pad it out it tend to be a little big. I guess it's a good thing as it keeps a nice breeze going through it through ;)

As for leather pants, well lets just say that nothing much is made for a 6'3" ~70kg guy. It's either insanely 'David Bowie' tight to get the waist right, or 'Rollo Dog' baggy to get the length (read... crutch) right.

You can see them a little bit in the image in my sig/avatar. Their the fairly small oval ones (not the spear looking ones), plain orange lens, black body. They use smaller bulbs than the standards so my indicators flash a little faster than before, but they clean up the look of the front alot.

Amen to that. I am 6'0" and 60kg. I have a jacket that has the right sleeve and torso length and has an adjustable waist but the upper arms and chest aren’t so good unless I wear a jumper or something under it. Might have to spend some more time at the gym lol. If I had the money for a custom job I would go for it but I don’t.

I'll second that. I'm 6'3" and 70kg. I can find nothing that will fit me in the waist and still be long enough in the leg. Or it'll be long enough and the waist will hold 3 more people.

Koma: Right answer.

I think so too! but I like your bike...actually your bike would go well with my leathers
Have you guy's noticed that this is now 3 pages long
I think I'll just keep on going When do I get to have a picture under SR???? do I have to be a poser I think I should have a picture . i got caught at work today reading Fast Bikes mag by a customer...he instantly asked the question "are you into bikes", I thought why else would a chick be reading a bike mag....he then started talking about Harleys and if I liked them. Why do they always assume we like Harleys just because we like bikes???
