After buying this bike unregistered it needed some TLC. I joined 2fiftycc.com about the same time as i purchased the bike. It was hard to find good info online thought there was nothing really available until i joined up here

I purchased the bike for $1k It was advertised at $2k with a slight scratch on the left hand side (they said all it needs is a windscreen) here is a pic of the old fairing that was on the bike when i picked it up. Yeah right just a wind screen huh?

So i found a new left hand upper fairing and ordered a new screen. I started to remove all the stickers from the bike. I also went ahead with polishing the lip's of the rims and keeping the spoke area the dull aluminium look. in this pic you get to see the new stator cover but will post the old cover as it was shocking. I originally filed it down and and made it look great but it was weeping from the side.

I also tried to JB weld it but that stuff gave in to vibration and actually cracked after about 2 weeks. So a new one was in order. I started on the rims using 180 grit wet and dry paper then once majority of paint was gone i stepped up to 420 grit then 800. after a few hours on each rim i was happy with the finish the 800grit gave with wd40 as a lubricant/dispersant.

I then finished off by polishing for about 1 hour per rim using Autosol.

With much help from Kiffsta.  I was able to get a great condition 2nd hand front caliper and brake line. Found a metal gear front disk on gumtree for 1/2 price (around $69) and fitted new front pads. the bike was also given new front and rear tires during all this. and new indicators all round. you can find the indicators i used here.

Also before doing all this I replaced the fork seals and fork oil. $25 for the seals and $20 for the oil. This stops oil leaking from forks onto front disc then contaminating front pads making them useless.

A combination of new front disc and polished lip gave the front end a fresh look.

I have done more since. Will post more pics soon

Those rims came up a treat....nothing like a bit of elbow grease to get a good result  ;D

The wheel lip was polished by.

280 grit wet and dry with WD40 as lubricant then once paint was off then 600 wet and dry. (process takes a while need a radio and some cool drinks) Then hit it with 1200 (all using WD40) then clean lip from all residue and wd40 and use autosol polish for a while..

The autosol will turn it into that mirror finish it contrasts well against the alloy coloured paint on the rest of the rim from factory.

    1 sheet of 280
    1 sheet of 600
    1 sheet of 1200
    1 tube of autosol
Should all be under $20 for the lot.

Use a old shirt to apply autosol and work it in for a good half hour each rim then use other side of shirt (clean side ) to polish off

Good luck all who try
