Well the time has come for me to sell the FZR1000. I've posted her on the Trading Post but thought there might be a few readers here that would appreciate her as much as i do. For me it was the perfect machine to step up to after my little FZR250. It feels like and FZR, works like an FZR, and best of all sounds like the meanest FZR i've ever heard (thanks to the Yoshi exhaust).

1992 Custom Silver, 5sp manual, ~54000 kms, Stunning one of a kind FZR1000 with many performance & visual mods; Honda Fireblade 2k3 tail, Yoshimura TRS stainless exhaust, custom suspension, R1 blue spot brakes w/ new pads (not in photos), tear drop mirrors, custom paint & decals, tinted screen, pillion grab rail, fender eliminator w/ LED lights, Pilot Power front and rear. Dyno'd at 128bhp in 2005. Top speed of an indicated ~290km/h, 400m @ ~10.7 with me riding (long swingarm helps ).

I'm open to offers but after tallying up the books and finding out how much she owes me i'm asking $6000 ONO.

I'm still umming and aahing if i really want to part with it or not as i still haven't found a suitable replacement for her, but i've got my eye on another project which will probably keep me entertained for another year or so. If there's no buyers then i'll probably end up installing EFI and a big bore kit, but thats time & money i'll never recoup.

Gimme a call, PM, or email if your interested in the bike and i can send some more photo's or arrange a viewing.

Cheers,
Jason.

UPDATED PRICE: She needs to sell! Poor thing is getting envious every time i throw my leg over the GSXR. I've been taking her for a spin more often now the Gixxer is in for some work, but she'll be getting lonely again soon. She's also had some new rubber put on front and rear; Pilot Powers all round so ready for some fun.

That's one sexy bike you've got there, Koma.

I love the colour scheme - it's hot!

Thanks fella's. Please pass the word along to other FZR riders as i'd really prefer to sell it to someone who's going to appreciate it as much as i do. The price is also negotiable so keep it in mind.

I reckon it is going to be hard to let go of it... and i may end up buying another one similar if i decide i can't live without it; but for the time being its time for something newer, something EFI and something with a bit more power. 128bhp just isnt doing it for me anymore. That said, i don't want MUCH more, but i reckon ~140-150bhp would keep me happy.

it really is a shame i dont have that kind of money! what are you thinking of as your next ride?
I like the new R1. IMHO they dont look as good as the older ones (i think anyway) but the new trick bits in them seem really sweet! (variable intakes, fly by wire throttle etc.) hopefully by the time i upgrade, i have enough bikkies to get one of them. then i would be like this-

Well there's quite an extensive shortlist for the next ride. As im sure ive said before the requirements are newer than 2000, must be EFI, ~190-210kg wet, and must put out ~125-145bhp when i've finished tuning and modifying. So on that list is the following:-
- Yamaha R1 (2003-2005... EFI and i like the LED tail of the '03)
- Yamaha R6 (2006-2007)
- Honda CBR954 Fireblade (2002-2003... don't like the 1000RR's)
- Suzuki GSXR1000 (2003-2006... they're not my cup of tea but they ride well)
- Kawasaki ZX10R (2004-2006... prefer the '04 cos its a wild ride )
- Triumph Daytona 955i (2003-2006... need to test ride cos not sure if i could deal with the triples power deliver)
- Triumph Daytona 675 (2006-2007... hey im curious )
- Aprilia RSVR 1000 (2003-2005... something different)

Bikes that are not on the list or have already been crossed off are...
- Kawasaki ZX6R, ZX7R, ZX9R (all years... none of them fit or agree with me)
- Suzuki GSXR600/750 (all years... not enough power, physically too small)
- Ducati anything... too expensive... not my thing
- ... and pretty much anything except the Speed Triple without fairings.

If i've missed a bike that anyone thinks i should try by all means suggest it... but i've gotta sell the FZR1000 before i can start seriously shopping around.
The budget also won't extend to buying a new bike... and to be honest i don't like riding a new bike! I'm much happier to give it the berries and enjoy it if there's already a scratch or two on it.

Hehe... did i mention i'm very fussy over my bikes. The FZR400 has to be the 1991-1994 FZR400SP; i think it's the 3TJ model. Its the FZR400SP equivalent of the same FZR250 3LN3 and FZR1000 3GM i've had. Unfortunately they also happen to be a little on the expensive or rare side as the last few that i've seen in good condition and low km's were going for ~$7k which is a bit much for a track day blaster.

I would mind if it wasn’t an SP, look at the power output. 400bhp!

Hey Koma,

Just a quick comment, awesome bike! I didnt take too much notice when I heard about it but you really have done an impressive job.

It isnt easy to get that aesthetic harmony but thats what youve done, looks awesome.

Wow, did the ZX-7 disagree with you so much you can't bring yourself to flame it in public?

No, it wasnt that bad but i had quite a few comments about the ZX6/ZX7/ZX9 so instead of cluttering up this thread... although it is bumping it quite often which is a good thing. Mostly just geometry and build quality were my complaints of the 7.

you rememeber when you were a kid and you picked someone up by the legs and they ran around on their hands wheelbarrow style?
that was my impression of riding a zx7r. sporty riding position they call it.

by the way koma nice job on the fzrthou, even nicer photography. a new career developing there?

LMAO @ the wheelbarrow desription for riding a ZX7R. It's not so bad for me with very long arms... but i know what you mean.

At the moment just a hobby on the side, but i'm looking into combining my official profession (Architecture & Design) with one of my hobbies (Photography) in the near future.

The Gixxer is about to arrive home after its' work so the FZR is about to get jealous again.
