Hey folks,
Just transfered the title a few hours ago, here's the beauty:

http://flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=1405862798&size=o

The bike isn't mint by any stretch of imagination, but hey it starts, goes and stops which is a lot!

Not sure what my plans are for it, maybe just ride it around as is and then sell it, or spend some time and $$ to make it nice.

Any more owners from US around here? I will probably have to tear into it and make a list of parts it needs and just order those from Japan, but if there's a better way to go about it I'd be curious to explore.

So far the obvious things the bike needs are:
- Front brake disks, the ones on the bike are pretty worn
- Brake pads
- Throttle return cable
- EXUP doesn't seem to work - the servo makes the right noises but I don't think there's any movement in the cables
- Left lower fairing is scratched, not too bad but decal took some beating

The bike also has a bunch of fasteners that are butchered up, will have to visit the hardware store and get the closest match for them..

Cheers!

Oy!
I may indeed decide to sell it a bit later, but before that I'll take it for a spin at Pacific and ride it around for a bit. It's street legal with title, blinkers and all. It just might need more love than I care to give it

The history of the bike is pretty murky, it was in in Southern CA before, probably got imported by some military personnel, then it's a blackout, then some dude from Mill Valley buys it from someone in Tacoma who needed gambling money. He had it for 3 years and put 300km on it. Go figure.

If you really want it, you're welcome to have it for $100 over what I paid for it ($2600+tax), just so that I can actually concentrate on making my race bike nice.

Oh yea, I'm in Eastlake, just north of downtown. Work in Redmond. Already commuted on it a couple of times, it's a hell of a fun bike to try to beat the traffic on, especially after getting used to my gixxer.

I'm going to try and be down at Pacific on Wed. the 26th for the track day. I'm trying to meet up with a customer of mine to help him out while he's down there. I'll not be participating this year, but count me in for next.

Monday was a blast, excellent weather and not too crowded. My new track bike wasn't so happy though, needs more tweaking.

Here's a pic from T6:

Looks like you guys could have it dry to, or it rained a bit?

I'm still not out of the woods with the fizzer parts. Brake disks, is there something compatible available in the States or I'll have to order an OEM part from Japan? I got friends that shuttle back and forth so I could do it if I have the part #, but it's a bit of a long stretch..

Well, there's a 3ln6 parts fishe. If 3ln2 only differs from it in headlight and cowling, I could use that one.

Working on cars.. At some point I kinda liked it, but then I started working on bikes and now I will do all I can to not touch those cages

hi dakh,
bike looks great. Is that an aftermarket rear suspension on there? Can you tell me what it is? Never seen a suspension upgrade on an FZR250 but would love one Looks like braided brake hoses too, do you know how to source these?

Ouch, $600 for brake disks.. Thanks a ton for parts lists and tire!

The bike is as I got it. Any braided brake line in correct length should work, the bike also has what looks like aftermarket rearsets. Shock, not sure about that one - I'll have to take it off to really see what the heck do I have there.. I gotta finish putting my race bike back together after a crash, then it's RC51 maintenance time, and only then I'll get to making RR a bit more coherent. I'm sure I'll come back here with questions when I do..
