    hey mate, got the same problem.. I think its a matter of float levels in the carbs from what ive heard. I havent got round to it but you could try cleaning them thoroughly for a start.

    If you have an EXUP model (2KR FZR '88 or later) make sure that the EXUP is functioning correctly. I.E. in the shut-off position below 3,000rpm then opening progressively to fully open at 10,000rpm. This check is easily done without having to ride the bike.

    Mine used to die on hills, even at 6-7,000rpm before I fitted the cables back in it. Used to feel like the choke was on. I could not even get up my driveway unless I got a run-up.

    May not be the problem but it sounds familiar.

    Here is a link posted earlier by BOZ that shows it pretty well. It is not a FZR250 but all the alignment procedure is the same other than the rpm figures.
    <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.cartestsoftware.com/fz1/exupmaintenance.html">http://www.cartestsoftware.com/fz1/exupmaintenance.html</a><!-- m -->
    <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.thunderace.host.sk/thunderace_bestanden/howto/exup/">http://www.thunderace.host.sk/thunderac ... owto/exup/</a><!-- m -->
    You will need two people to do the check, one twisting the throttle and calling the rpm, and some-one else watching the EXUP valve.
