Hi peeps. Just joined forum. Currently have two ZXR250s. One A and one C (C3 I think). The A is running but seems to get hot fast. The C is not quite on the road. Needs carbs scrubbed and looks like it's burning oil. Anyhow, will no doubt be seen asking lots of questions in the relevant forums. Adam
In my experience with FZR250's, when they get hot, and the frame also gets hot, they are overdue to have the valve clearances done. You will find a lot of valves on the tight side of the spec. Burning oil will be worn out rings or valve stem seals. Either way you have to take the cylinder head of to replace the rings and the stem seals.
I've just received new rings and oil seals. Have it booked in to have them fitted end of the month. Sent from my HTC Desire 620 using Tapatalk
