I got the Michelin Pilot Street Radials

 

So, not my bike, but I was in an undercover carpark and heard a deep, lou,d V-twin note. I look around and I think it's a ducati, but as it turns, the tank looks like it says Honda, but it doesn't look like a Honda I know. So I go and check. It turns out to be a Hyosung 250! Impressive sound with a aftermarket exhaust.

My report for what iv'e done on the SRX today as follows :Ahhh Nothing really , just looked at the bike and put the bike cover back on. This is killing me not starting on the rebuild , so looking forward to it .

 

What a day rang Kawasaki Nerang for some pilot screw washers part# 92055-1002: ( Sure how many you want we got heaps & there normally $5.50 each but they have been in stock for awhile so you can have them for 2$ each) sweet ill have 8 see you in an hour, traffic, heat and breathalysed finally got there they had 3 in stock instead of 27 and the magical 4th appeared some 30 minutes later, payed 1$ each for them after all that, left feeling relieved id gotten some rode off into the traffic, heat another breath test and a drug swab to boot because he didnt like my fresh mohawk.No wonder I sacked these guys years ago & usually deal with Krazy dogs Kawasaki & get it posted out. Am currently having a bourbon listening to Kevin bloody Wilsons "Ive had an absolute .... of a day"

 

A few drinks later and look what else has arrived, will be good to have proper carb/airbox seals instead of the home-made ones i use now that just dont wanna stay in place. Cheers Lite Tek,quicker delivery than I expected too with Aust Post efforts lately already rang a mate and booked his carby synchroniser aswell.

rode the honda hornet today and it went well. first time since i cactussed the knee early in april.changed a rear blinker so ready for rego.

 

So last night i didn't do much on the bike, because the battery was charging.

I refilled the manometer with thicker fluid (gear oil mixed with Motul 300V so it'd glow) but drained the battery trying to get the bike to start... of course after I nuked the battery I realized i'd run the bike out of fuel.

Added fuel. Put petcock to prime...Cranked it over a bunch of times, and it's not catching. It IS hydrolocking though- so maybe a needle isn't sealing correctly?

I'm getting a wee bit frustrated at this bike...

 

Are you sure it's hydraulicking, not a jumped timing?

 

It's not jumped timing- it cranks for a few minutes until it gets fuel down in.

And I can get it to run on choke sometimes.

 

Picked this up at auction repairable write off with only fairing damage! Plan on build a r3 cup bike

 

Fizzer forks aren't worth spending any $$ on repairing given their below average performance, straighten and rechrome will cost at least $400 +GST, replacement tubes are available for about the same price.

@Woolfe is wrecking a zeal, the upper stanchions from those forks may be the same - worth checking...there may be others with forks available

 

I still have the forks off the Zeal if you are interested. I actually saw the discussion heading "So what have you done to your bike today" and was going to say, I just gave every leading edge of my bike, helmet and clothes a heavy coating of bug! Fun to apply but not so much fun to remove.
