So, not my bike, but I was in an undercover carpark and heard a deep, lou,d V-twin note. I look around and I think it's a ducati, but as it turns, the tank looks like it says Honda, but it doesn't look like a Honda I know. So I go and check. It turns out to be a Hyosung 250! Impressive sound with a aftermarket exhaust.

I grabbed a new accessory grinding and sanding pack for my Dremel (Well the cheap knock off of a Dremel) with the quick change cutting, grinding and sanding wheels....
Time to try cleaning up some of my poor welding with more precision than possible with a 5" battery grinder...
Works a treat... what was going to be a real pain with the grinder and possibly a file is all done and nice and smooth.
The quality of the Dremel accessories is so much better than the cheap stuff... I wonder if there is that much variance between the units themselves... might have to go to Bunnings and try one out...

So last night i didn't do much on the bike, because the battery was charging.

I refilled the manometer with thicker fluid (gear oil mixed with Motul 300V so it'd glow) but drained the battery trying to get the bike to start... of course after I nuked the battery I realized i'd run the bike out of fuel.

Added fuel. Put petcock to prime...Cranked it over a bunch of times, and it's not catching. It IS hydrolocking though- so maybe a needle isn't sealing correctly?

I'm getting a wee bit frustrated at this bike...

Are you sure it's hydraulicking, not a jumped timing?

It's not jumped timing- it cranks for a few minutes until it gets fuel down in.

And I can get it to run on choke sometimes.

Tried out my revised settings on the Welder and yay... no more blowing holes...lol.
I need to get a few pieces of 4mm plate plasma cut before I can do any more welding so I figured I would start prepping the front triple tree and forks... Hmmmm looks like both inner tubes are bent... not surprising though considering the condition of the donor FZR250.
Now to look at replacement tubes or having these straightened... might go for replacements as there is quite a bit of pitting on one of them... grrr

Fizzer forks aren't worth spending any $$ on repairing given their below average performance, straighten and rechrome will cost at least $400 +GST, replacement tubes are available for about the same price.

@Woolfe is wrecking a zeal, the upper stanchions from those forks may be the same - worth checking...there may be others with forks available

I still have the forks off the Zeal if you are interested. I actually saw the discussion heading "So what have you done to your bike today" and was going to say, I just gave every leading edge of my bike, helmet and clothes a heavy coating of bug! Fun to apply but not so much fun to remove.
