    hey all,

I'm after a chain case for the 1983 GSX250. There doesn't seem to be any genuine second hand ones available on eBay or gumtree at the moment. I've emailed a few wreckers too and it doesn't seem to be very common.

Is anyone using an alternative case that fits? For example it "looks" as though the chain case from the GS500 might fit. See pictures below. Any suggestions are appreciated cheers.

It looks so similar, only difference I think is the back bolt looks like it angles towards the front of the bike a bit more where the back bolt on genuine case looks to go straight down.. I guess if I take a chance it's only $10-40 down the drain if it doesn't work out.

Thanks kiffsta, yeah I sent a message out on find a part though I only got a bunch of messages for the 250 across chain guards.. hard to tell if that guard will fit.

No it will be different than the Gsx250f across chain guard. I'm really surprised findapart.com.au didn't find anything.

@Ben Mulligan , do you have a spare Chain guard

I picked up my gsx this morning, alas it's a 1981 not a 1983, they had different swing arms so mine won't fit

If there's nothing local you can try jp-parts for a brand new one, that's if any dealers in japan that have one.

Try jauce/buyee/other yahoo auctions japan service for 2nd hand

Seems there are a couple on Jauce...
    http://www.jauce.com/search/GSX250+Chain+guard

Make sure you read all the charges etc you get hit with if you are going to order on there... you could expect to end up paying between $50 and $75 depending on the local freight in Japan and EMS charges....

GS450 guard should fit pretty much same bike and those are in chrome not plastic or GS425 maybe.
