Finally complete, bought another complete bike just for the tank to finish her off, luckily had a brand new fuel tap attached also! 7000 k's later and no issues what so ever, such a fun & reliable bike.
just purchased a fresh timing chain tensioner and will be getting valve clearances check in near future, just for peace of mind.

This is my first ever road bike, purchased off my neighbour for $700 who got it off his brother for free, 66,000ks on the clock, imported in 99. Was on the look out for an inline 4 for awhile and was lucky enough to come across the zxr (only knew about the cbr lol) this thing had obviously had a rough life, never garaged, the calipers were seized, all pads were worn unevenly, leaking forks, slipping clutch, fairings were destroyed, still had factory rotors with about 2mm left, overall just filthy and neglected. the weird thing is the engine and transmission is faultless, after pulling the fairings off and having a good inspection it seems the whole engine has been stripped down at one point as there was gasket goo at every join, possibly rebuilt? lucky enough to have a brand new cam chain tensioner on it too, no rattling and revs to all the way to redline nice and smooth, anyway I didn't mind putting abit of work into it as I didn't have my license yet and had to get a rwc for it anyway. Not many of my mates are into bikes or mechanical side of things so I thought it would be nice to share my little project with others who may appreciate it :)

The first few pics are when I bought it, it doesn't even look that bad but that's usually the case with bikes until you see them in real life, so yeah I'm missing a lot of pics but will update when my phone is fixed, heres a list of some of the work I have done to it.
    - rebuilt all 3 calipers, all were seized and missing seals
    - New Front and rear rotors
    - Fork rebuild by MPE suspension, new seals, stiffer springs and fluid
    - New fairings
    - New clutch plates, springs and cable
    - Fresh iridium plugs, NGK caps and Hi temp leads
    - Flushed and replaced engine oil, coolant and brake fluid, and replaced all filters.
Theres a lot of other niggly things I haven't metioned but i was lucky that all bearings, tyres, eletricals, chain and sprockets were all in mint condition. All up the bike owes me 2.9k including buying it and rego and rwc, My budget was 3k so I'm quite happy with that.
Currently in the process of finding someone to paint my tank and install my Litetek carby rebuild kit, will make sure i update.
