Hello everyone, just a few pics of a project I have been working on for the last twelve months or so.
It is based on a 1973-4 Yamaha AG100 & has been modified for use in Bucket & pre 73 classic racing.
The engine uses the crank case, gearbox & clutch from the earliest version, allowing the bike to race in pre 73 events.
The cyl. barrel comes from the later engine which has a much larger intake port & reed valve block.
The piston also is a later version with narrow piston rings which will allow a higher RPM limit.
The cylinder head has been highly modified to allow as high a compression ratio as possible & surfaces have been machined radially to help stop detonation.
I have used dual stage Boyson reeds & a larger AG175 carb.
The expansion chamber has been designed to give peak performance at around 8000-9000RPM
Exhaust port has been widened & opened out to approx 210 degrees.
Standard points ignition has been retained using a later model lighter flywheel.
I chose an AG100 frame that incorporates a twin tube design, looks more period.
Front forks are from the larger AG175, font brake is a twin leading setup from a YSD2.
New alloy rims of 18" are laced to the brake drums with new 4mm spokes.
Clip on bars, period style fuel tank, cafe racer style seat, home rear set foot pegs, half front fairing & a Yamaha paint scheme to finish it off.

Thanks for the comments, this is how I received the bike, there will be a lot of changes, I will be highlighting the black colour scheme, the paint is in pretty good condition so no real need to change.
It already has clip on's, (not set up right) the rear sets are standard & give a good comfy riding position.
I will be fitting a proper cafe racer style seat & front mini fairing, all in black of course.
I hate the exhaust, this will be changed to get rid of the horribly restrictive collector box under the engine to a 2 into one collector & a nice tapered megaphone.

Mike has done an excellent job with the AG100. This is mine and what it would have started out as.
