Yes that's the one, you can them get either chromed or in black, over here in NZ we don't have to meet low levels of sound regulations, to the extent many, many Harley's out here have no mufflers at all, lovely sound if you love "V" twins, but can be very intimidating.

Yes... there a couple of wannabe Bikies 3 streets away who go for a ride each and every Sunday morning and you can definitely hear them coming... and going..
I dont want mine to be super loud.. just have a nice tone.. there are a few others around similar in build to a Dunstall that I will have a look at when I am ready.. I might end up needing to borrow a muffler from another SRX250 for Blue Slip Inspection... hint hint @2valve

Yes comply with the regulations & change them when you get home, but honestly these mega's sound beaut, & are not overly offensive, Remember the sound of the 350/500 Manx Norton's ? very similar.

No problem buddy , anytime you need anything just ask :thumb_ups:. It's a very quiet muffler that's for sure , actually it's still attached to the header pipes so it's a bolt on install.

Look what can happen if don't use an oil pressure gauge or warning light. P1080490.JPG P1080489.JPG
Thankfully the camshafts & bearing surfaces were OK, but the engine seized on me so quick & hard that it split the bottom of the Cyl. sleeve. I managed to procure a s/hand Cyl. & piston from off Ebay.
Notice how thin the oil pump gear had worn down before it gave up the Ghost. the other gear is the Tacho drive gear which had broken its bearing shaft housing out of the engine cover, thankfully I don't need it as I am using an electronic Rev. counter.
Interestingly I was offered a complete s/hand pump ass. from one of the online shopping co. that showed the same gear in not much better condition than my one. Must have been a bit of a weakness with this series of engines, has anyone else experienced this failing?

Actually i have a very old article about the early model Kawasaki Z 250's that had this issue with the oil pumps failing. The oil pump gears where upgraded so the write up reveals.Iv'e got this little book buried in my archives.
