    1988 Yamaha FZR250

I've got a currently registered (in WA) FZR250 for sale. It is in average condition, but still roadworthy. The images will show you what it looks like, but it goes like the clappers (really pulls for a 250 when above 11,000RPM), starts easily (unless left for a month or so with no starting, then it requires a bit more cranking), and I've never had a running problem since I bought it - my ownership is from 13,000km -> 50,146km (current odometer reading).

Work I've done on the bike
    * Oil and filter change every 5,000km. Last change was at 48,000km.
    * Regularly check the water / coolant - never ever required a top up so no leaks!
    * Installed a manual toggle switch on the dash to manually turn on / off the radiator fan for those hot, slow traffic days. Switch is completely waterproof
    * Replaced various bulbs as they've died - headlights currently have 50W bulbs installed instead of the standard 35W bulbs.
    * Replaced front brake disc - I noted that shortly after I bought the bike it started shuddering on front brake application (warped disc) - assumed someone had hit the disc in the parking lot. Replaced the disc with a wavey one. At the same time I removed the front and rear calipers, stripped them apart and fully cleaned everything. Also replaced the pads.
    * Chain and sprockets as required
    * Replaced seals in front brake caliper (about 1 year ago) - I noticed the new disc was slowly feeling a little bit jerky. Figured the seals in the front brake caliper were probably the cause (uneven pot activation) - have not replaced the disc since, and it continues to have a slight jerky feel, but brakes are still very responsive.
    * Battery replaced <6 months ago

    The bad

    * Slight oil leak - not enough to worry me, but I do keep an eye on the oil. (I might do a top up every 3,500km.)
    * Cracked front left engine fairing. Was like this when I bought it. Cosmetic only.
    * Slight jerky-ness on front brake.
    * As of about 2 months ago the bike started having a slight electrical issue when running for extended periods (e.g. 1 hour) with the headlights on. Prior to this is ran perfect with all electrics running. The problem is after extended running it will cut out due to low battery voltage. Once the bike has sat for a bit and the voltage creeps back it it will start again. I have done no diagnostic testing as I was rebuilding another bike at the time and then packed everything for a move to NZ. Based on what I've read I assume probably a rectifier problem, and probably pretty easy to fix.
    * Bent end on clutch lever. It's only cosmetic and doesnt affect the action. Pretty sure someone backed into the bike in the carpark, stood it back up and took off.
    * Minor scrapes on engine casing on one side (from memory) - it was like this when I bought it, and is definitely from a very low speed off. The scrape is pretty minor.
    * Seats (both main and pillion) are badly ripped. I have a boney bum and the age of the fabric just tore it with use. I just tape it up for my use.
    * From memory that's all the bad points - everything else is just general aging such as the windscreen not being clear anymore.

    $1000 ONO

I'd rather it go to a good home with someone that knows about bikes and is aware of all the history than try and fob it off to make as much money as possible, so feel free to make a reasonable offer.
