This is one of the two I have bought. Completely in pieces! Should be fun putting it back together.

    Enjoy the progress!

No, but it will be fun finding out! I have two, so should be able to build one.

All that looks a bit like an alarm clock my brother tried to 'fix' a few years ago. :lolsign:

    And he deserves it!
As a mechanic my brother makes a good electrician, until you look at his wiring.

Impressive! And here I thought putting an air box back in, then replacing fairings and putting a seat back on was a puzzle!

So I have started on the engine for this project, make sure it is a runner! The previous owner changed the cam chain and dropped it into the bottom of the motor!
I have fished it out and now attempting to put it back on.

The old chain 128 links, the new chain 128 links.

I have disconnected the chain tensioner, but the chain seems to be too short? Never done one on this bike.

Do I need to undo the sprocket on the cam and drop the cam on place then put the cam sprocket back on?

In need of help, this is driving me insane!

I don't know about these particular engines, but in general most Honda cam chains I have fitted I have fitted the chain to the sprocket, then fitted sprocket to the cam.

consider stretch.... a new 128 chain new will be tighter than an old 128.
