    I've got three transmissions apart and I was astonished at how much play there is on the shaft for that gear

    Bottom end of that LN6, it's head dropped onto an LN3 bottom end sweetly (even tho' piston p/n differs) to keep 2 reg'd bikes running. S'pose the rattle could've been piston slap then @ruckusman (they're under the spec).
