    Hi Gents,

Ssssssooooo I'm restoring an Across at the moment and I ran into the problem with the pilot jets being stuck and impossible to remove from the carb. All 4 are stuck, and no mechanic wants to put up with a task like this. So my only option is to replace the carb entirely. I found 2 already, both have the same problem, and of those even has a crack in the base...so this is not an option. Has anybody ever fitted another carb on this bike? A Bandit 250 maybe? The original is a pair of Mikuni BSW27s.

    Thanks!

The across and bandit heads are different as are the carbs. They do not interchange with each other

if a mechanic won’t get the jets out, take them to a machine shop , I’m sure they can pop them out for you. I have had jets stuck in across carbs before , I have gotten them out by using a flat blade screwdriver and giving them a gentle tap with a hammer to put a small indent in top so I have something to turn against.

A good machinist will get them out in no time oh

I had a machinist take out the stuck pilot jets. And after setting up the float height and also replacing the float bowl gasket, pilot jets, needle jet, the bike finally started up. On to the next issues :)
