Hey guys, I'm looking at replacing the big bulky stock gauge set for something off ebay (temporary till I find something else) and was curious to know, if the original gauge reads to a top speed of 230km/h or there about, and the new one only reads to 180km/h-ish, would the new gauge read the wrong speed???
230KM/h for a GSX250 is a tad optimisic I'd say. New ebay gauges may require you to use a hall effect sensor. How is your current speedo driven? FZR/Zeal have a drive on the front axle/wheel and cable going to the dash. Some bikes have a speed sensor on front sprocket.
Yeah that speed would not be able to to be reached at all. The gauges I have been looking at are cable driven which matches my current set up.
Depending on what style you are wanting to go to, these don't look too bad, kind of like the 2008 GSXR1000 style They come with a new sensor for the speedo, plus have a lot more option's you can wire up too eg temp, gear position indicator etc etc https://www.aliexpress.com/item/150..._1&btsid=86080d21-fde3-44b9-a02c-52278ee53e5d Or the OE style Just remember some of the cheap china one's fade quick, and the needle's melt etc https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Mot..._1&btsid=cd266fba-7a69-4bc7-8583-f4c6e04f7d6f
