Info Aftermarket Glass Fuel Filter

    I bought a couple of these from Third Gear and installed it straight out of the box ... bad move

    I should have looked a bit closer and gave it a 'rebuild'

    Firstly it leaked as the ends wernt screwed on tight enough to seal the outside glass tube

    I also eventually found that it hadnt filtered anything as it wasnt assembled correctly inside

    There was also shards of metal from the holes drilled in the inner tube to let the fuel flow thru

    My bike had started running badly so a carb inspection is needed to see if the cause is from no filtering for thousands of Ks and possible metal bits inside.

    Oh yes, I've found that in those filters too. Not good that you have to rebuild them before use.

    Heres what came from cleaning it up .... would do wonders inside the carbys :help:
