I thought about it, and I know someone working at it, but does anyone have a complete set of particular bikes like 250 CBR/FZR/ZXR/GSXR or Hornet/Zeal/Balius/Bandit, or even like @kiffsta seemed to be going for, a 250/400/600/(750)/900 of one model? If you do, I want photos! :-D Let's face it, if I had a complete set, it would be called the rat pack, because they would all be pretty ratty condition...
I had a 250RR (Tyga) and 600RR. I considered getting a 1000RR to complete the set. I want a CR250 to match my CR125. Motorcycle collecting is more difficult than I expected. When I had 11 bikes I never wanted to ride them. To lazy to keep changing oil and washing bikes! Now at an all time low of 4 motorcycles.
I have 3 different 80's CB 250RSs that were originally black, red and blue. Finding enough intact blue or black fairings to restore them all to original livery would be a challenge though!
I thought about doing a set. I have a 92 ZXR250, and I like the 95-97 zx-6r (had 2½), so I thought get the 250, 400, 600 and 900. Then I remembered there's a 1200, and 750, in the 90s. Well, the 400 is near impossible to find, 5 bikes is 6 more than I can afford so even the 3 bikes (250, 600, 900) is still much. Even the 250 is hard to afford - every time I ride the bike I'm reminded of what is going to need to be spent. A boy can dream....
Hey Shane...I have a "set" of Honda V-twins; a VT250, a NT400 & a NT650. Does that qualify for your "set" criteria?
Frank, I think I saw the photo in garage section of this page and thought they were 3 spadas. How do they compare, out interest? I think Chris had a 250 and 900 in tiger livery. But I doubt he still has both, bikes come and go a bit at kiffsta's place.
I still have them, I wish I’d kept the 400 , I think the 4 cycl 250 set would be cool, I have a cbr, zxr, gsxr , I just need a fzr and an across .
The Spada is a more refined version of the VT250F and goes accordingly, but VT250F is still my favourite to ride. That Spada is actually my wife's bike, but I ride it when I need to go to the shops. The NT400 and NT650 are completely different animals. They're maligned for being under-powered, but you don't notice that when you're riding them. The NT650 is actually well suited to my weight and makes a good touring bike. I've added a few bits to the NT400. Bikini fairing, aftermarket exhaust and K&N filter etc. It barks when you rev it, so people know you're next to them in the traffic. It's also good for longer distance work with excellent fuel economy and good all round behaviour. Good article about the NT650 (called the Honda Hawk GT in the USA). http://www.canyonchasers.net/reviews/bikes/honda/hawk/index.php
