I spotted a bike lift in the current repco catalogue normally $256.00 now $149.00 On sale untill september 4
if you have the room go to Bunnings and buy timber and make a full size bike bench, cost would be about $80/100. One sheet of 5 ply 2.4 x 1.2 I think it is, that is enough for the top 600 wide, 2 x side drops 300 high, cut 600 width from the middle of each and use for the ends, that's $50.00. Get 2 x 3 metre lengths of 75mm x 35mm treated pine, make a frame the same size as the top (35mm side facing up, 60mm self tap screws) with 3 braces across spaced through the length. Screw your top to that, self tap screws 25/30mm long, screw your sides and ends next, same 25/30mm screws and use the remainder of the treated pine lengths to brace the 4 corners. A cordless drill and power saw would be handy. When finished you have a good solid work area and if you have a bit more money buy one of those roll around seats with tool tray under.
This sounds good but I don't have the room at the moment and I need to get the wheels off the ground or get some rollers to spin them on. Could you do a drawing of this as I would like to make one when I do get the room.
I made a trip to the scrap man and came out with enough for the lift and a little left over for some other toy. Picked the lift up today and tyred it out. Gets the bike off the ground and it is very stable. Should be it weighs half a ton and it has a safety to keep the bike up if the hydraulics fail. Made by Pro Lift.
