in the bigger picture of this, it is a small price to pay to get her back on the road.

The Across is very common and as u live in Sydney maybe trying for a set of carbs from the wreckers might be an option ..... obviously theres the risk u will get more dodgy rubbers but if if they came from a less neglected bike ...?

    Update

Checked out the breaks today. They are stuffed.. Disc front and rear need replacing.

Also will need new seals in the calipers, they are trying to escape out the sides didnt think that was normal

.. Found a rock wedge in under the flat metal spring thing in the front one too. Very interesting.

@Jessica are those standard issue backyard mechanic safety boots? ;)
you seem to be making progress on the bike.
also when you get a new disk for the rear could you let me know where and how much approximately they were.

they are Hi Vis safety boots :) improvement on the uggs I was wearing earlier that day.

    today's progress.

    Fairing prep.

very long process but at this stage one that will have a complete positive outcome, once we repair this part...

    photo.JPG

new colour scheme for this baby will be yellow and black.

i will be hunting down prices for the Disks tomorrow, happy to post what i find :)

quick question, is there anything else i should be paying attention to when inspecting the break lines? this side of things i have not tackled before so not really sure what to be watching out for.

I will see if I can find part schematics. I bought the caliper seals for my bike from kawasaki for $7.25 each, saved a fortune as they are all you really need. Turns out they were used on all sorts including zx7r and kx80s

I have a front caliper and master cylinder off Yongs across, apart from that I would call your local dealer, I'm sure they can supply them, if not suziparts.com.au
