    Broadford 2017

Well it’s that time of the year again, so off to Broadford we go.

This year’s theme is DUCATI, so basically the place looks like every Ducati in Australia is there.

Normally, I take plenty of photos of all the 2fiftycc bikes I can find and give a little commentary about the show. This year, my phone went into battery drain mode, so I could only take a few pics and, as such, I have the following few to share.

Now, I’m not a sidecar person. In fact, if you asked me if I wanted to go for a ride on one I’d more than likely make a dismissive grunt and walk away…unless it was for this sidecar! This thing looks fast standing still, is very fast on track and makes the most beautiful noise you could hope to hear.

Here’s another Vincent sidecar, but this one was a static display, a classy static display.

The usual suspects were in attendance. Kevin McGee is a regular as is Cam Donald. This year’s Ducati flavour meant we got a visit from Troy Bayliss and three 1299 Panigale Superbikes.

Troy did a few laps to remind us of what a really fast rider looks like. Watching him get around Broadford on one of those things was the highlight of my weekend. He said he thought he was doing 1min 15sec laps. All I know is everyone stopped whatever they were doing and watched him do his thing.

Some odd bikes for the historians amongst you to figure out; here’s a Moto Guzzi something and a few modernised/custom bikes.

And finally, a couple of 2fiftycc bikes to finish with. Have a Good Easter everyone.

    Nice pics Frankster.
I think the Moto Guzzi is a Bialbero 350cc (Bialbero meaning twin camshaft) They won world championships from 1953 to 1957 with the most famous rider being Fergus Anderson. It was developed from the race winning 250cc and with a full fairing could do 140mph (224Kmh).

I could have put money on you knowing about the Moto Guzzi. Thanks Murdo. This year, I spent some time at the motorcross track watching some of the older bikes go around...too much fun!
