IMG_1487.JPG Hi guys, new to this forum, I'll introduce my bike I got a couple of years ago and finally started riding this month. I'm loving it and rides quite well and it's quite forgiving for someone like me who had ever only ridden old shool vespas.
I'll probably change a few things over time and have been having an itch to turn it into more of a scrambler. But the only thing I wanna change ASAP is the seat as I just don't dig it. Any suggestions for better looking/ fitting seats that won't require chassis mods?
Also would like to change the headlight as the current one just looks it would a chopper style bike better. Any suggestions there?

    Cheers!

While I'm generally not a fan of this type of conversion, yours is pretty slick.

You could go back to a stock headlight maybe?

    Welcome to the forum

You could have the seat foam trimmed and reshaped to something more like a scrambler

The headlight you could try some shorter mount's, or use a teardrop shaped light ?

    Or a smaller 5 3/4 headlight

thanks for your quick replies guys! I would
really like to go with a flat seat but I'm afraid that it won't suit the stock tank with the way it's shaped and will also need to mod the chassis a bit.

for the headlight I'm thinking about something like this one https://tinyurl.com/zqqxdy3

another question I have is: the previous owner modded the exhaust so it conveys into a single one on the right side of the bike. Does this have an impact on performance and is it eventually bad for the engine? I have to say the bike is quite loud for a 250.

    thanks again!

    That black light will look
Awesome , I agree that a flat seat won't work, as My67xr said , maybe get it reformed and recovered to get the look you want.

As far as the seat goes, not sure what your budget is but maybe something off another Honda of the same vintage like this one?

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Original-seat-Honda-CB360-CB250-CL360-/302225336849

On the exhaust, considering pretty much the same engine was used in the earlier XL250 trailbike with a 2 to 1 exhaust you'll probably be OK.

Here's what one of mine sounds like with half a muffler missing on one side:

Stock mufflers are hard to find these days. I'm looking at about $300 to get one sent from Germany!

And here's how my other running one sounds with both mufflers but badly in need of new exhaust gaskets:

P.S. I may or may not be a little biased towards this particular model of bike in stock configuration... :crazypilot:

    Welcome.
For the headlight I would suggest having a look at www.thirdgear.com.au They have some similar ones at better prices. The seat can be reshaped to suit. Take the cover off and with a sharp knife cut the foam to the shape you want, then re-attach the cover.

and also don't get me wrong I love the original look of the cb250 but since I bought it halfway through a project I guess I'll just keep having fun with it. If I had bought a dusty original one I would of restored to its original looks.

If you need any original spares, let me know. I might have a whole spare bike eventually if I just can figure out what's not properly connected at the moment...
