If it is rich you turn the pilot screws in to make it leaner.

I'm gravity fed after the Chinese pump fell apart. Live in the Yarra Ranges, fine climbing Mts & passing everything in my way. Newish filter tho'. Running with camel coloured plugs on needles dropped 1 notch.

Update, went to do an oil change and noticed the sump plag was leaking slightly. Put a fresh washer and a bit of gasket goo on. Tightened it enough to squash the washer and the strainer cover is now cracked. Cannot find a repacment online so thinking about taking it in to be welded. Unless I can find a 2nd hand one elsewhere.

I presume you are talking about the oil filter cover drain. Another possibility if replacing the sump with a later model one. They are a direct replacement and use a screw on type of filter. Just in case you get stuck, or just want to change. EDIT: just reread the first post and it looks like a later model so should already have the sump I mentioned

I would prefer a screw on filter setup so i wouldn't have to drop the whole exhaust every oil change. But can seem to find any fzr250 sumps. So gonna have to take it to a welder and go from there I think

3LN3 and up (also 3YX zeal) have a screw on style filter without need to remove the headers. Same bottom end more or less.

All good, cracks been welded up and not leaking after a good ride. Dialed back the fuel 1/4 and has less fumes coming out the exhaust and is cooling alot better too. Clutch is slipping a bit so looking at fixing that. Is the kits from Ali express any good? And also looking at replacing the coils and caps, but don't wanna spend 600 on them. Does anyone have any cheaper alternatives?

Why do you want to replace the coils? Coils rarely fail. If they are working, do not touch them. You can also often just replace the leads and reuse the existing caps.

The spark arcs to the valve cover sometimes and I think I'm losing it in 1 when it rains. So maybe wires and caps?

I'm really surprised that the clutch is slipping.

It had been sitting dry for like 10 years. Im hoping the springs are still ok. Can't find a kit that includes them

Springs do not just go soft from sitting doing nothing. Pull out the entire cluctch assembly and have a really good look.
Clean up the slots in the inner and outer cages as the plates can dig into these and jam, resulting in slip.

Have a look here in my thread .... scroll down this page and a bit more .... I used the EBC kit a few years ago now .... It shows u what @jmw76 is referring to as well

    https://www.2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/my-fizzer.872/page-36

As for coils , yes they should be fine ..... the leads are tricky to replace as the clips that hold them in the coils become brittle and break easily ..... try this first and look for "green" corrosion in the caps
If u replace the caps they need to be 10 ohm

New clutch in, old ones were black and filled with gunk. Feels alot better. Used old spark caps but fit new leads to the old coils and now has no problems running in the wet. New problem, turning the lights on seems to draw more power than the generator can provide. It has all new bulbs.

Out of 3 engines quite a few had corrosion on the 10kohm plug cap internal resistor. Many simply fell apart, when disassembled. Metering end-end for 33k found the good pairs.
And PO had dropped in a 100W headlamp globe. Connector had heat damage.
