    Guys,

    I'm brewing a crazy project - don't ask - lockdown mania - there will be a writeup!

Anyway if anyone has a 2KR and 3LN, I'm interested to know if the 2KR tank will go into a 3LN frame

Will likely be looking for a 2KR tank and tank cover soonish

No they are completely different, 2KR tank is smaller and has a plastic tank cover, 3LN is larger and has no plastic cover.

OH I know that, I'm wondering if the 2KR plastic tank will fit in the 3LN frame

No idea about the tank itself - but I cut a metal 2KR tank cover down to fit my 3LN frame.
Shape isn't quite the same in plan view - but close enough due to the width of the frame spars.
I may yet be boxing in part of the cover to use as a tank. Lower/smaller than OE 3LN.

That's almost exactly what I was thinking of, so the 2KR tank cover will go on a 3LN frame and look mostly at home

I'll see if I can get a pic for you. I have also seen a fiberglass 2KR copy with a moulded in small tank on a 3LN style frame.
Which is why i looked for a tank cover for mine. No-one could tell me who had the mould....

Here you go. Wider at the front, narrower through the middle and wider at the rear.
Bear in mind my subframe is narrower and lower than stock.
I just drew a line and cut - then cut again till I got it as low as I could - but still clearing the in-frame tank i made. Pics of that on the build thread.

Awesome work @gregt - I'm looking at shoehorning in YZF600 engine, which will need that space up front

FWIW they have the tank volume back and down low, like a combination of the 2KR and 3LN tanks, so if you cold get a beat up one, the lower section might transplant

I'm going to have to re-check your build thread now as I must have missed the part where you made the tank for yours
