    Heya Everyone,

Im going to be doing oil and tuning the forks on my 3LN1 this weekend, I plan on following this guide since the forks dive when i touch the brake or corner so I need to re-tune them for a 80kg rider and compensate for them softening up over the past 26 years. Has anyone done this before? What were your results?

I plan on using 10W Oil as per the manual, I will start my re-measuring everything once they are clean and oil changed and new seals are in. Then I will experiment with a added 30mm spacer on each fork to add some preload. If im still not happy with that, I will be shortening and spacing the spring as per the guide above.

If anyone has done this before, let me know and I will use that as a baseline to work from.

    Thanks Guys.

Yea the FZR front end is well known for being like marshmellow

Heres a big discussion about it ....

On the @Grasshopper 3LN3 we used 15W oil and we both noticed an improvement ..... we didnt do any scientific testing , just a before and after feel thing.
Our next move was to install the FZR400 non progressive springs but havnt done so as yet.

I went 15w in mine too... just that alone was enough to satisfy.

I'll also be putting 15W into the 3LN6 forks.

Okay sounds like I'll start with a 50/50 mix of 10 and 15 weight and tune from there.

I read somewhere the factory springs for a fzr400 fit straight in, but I want to see if I can get a good result modifying what is already in there. If I do, it could be used by fellow members instead of full spring replacements.
